I was just in California. Amazing beer, and great Mary Jane. Loved it but it smelled like Gulliver pissed over the entire thing.

You reckon? The context I hear it in most is one of understatement. "This lettuce is kinda limp", for example, would be used for lettuce very much beyond its best, perhaps on the verge of dissolving. "This holiday kinda sucks" might be said after the airline loses your case, it's raining, and discovering the only restaurant within walking distance of your hotel is vegan.

One thing that always bothers me when I visit the States is the massive portion sizes at all the restaurants. On a recent trip to DC, I was unable to finish a single meal I had ordered, including one off the kids' menu. I have no idea how you Americans are able to finish that much food. Only one of the people I was with was able to finish his meals, and after each one, he felt sick and had to lie down for a while.
However, Americans do produce fantastic television. TLC seems always to be producing gems like My 600lb Life and My Strange Addiction. And the commercials are always amazing! One commercial will promise you a pill that will fix all of your problems, and two commercials later, you'll see a lawyer saying that if you've ever taken a magic pill, you could be eligible to join a class action lawsuit.
