Hi, anyone up for a genuine wilson game? That is, full press where diplomacy actually takes place in the public chat? I'm thinking 36h phases for full drama, maybe a 50 buy-in to increase the stakes. Could be a lot of fun!

If the Masters weren't taking up all my time, I would 1000% be in on this! Wilsonian games are my very favorite! I would seriously encourage other players to get in on this unique experience of game type. It changes the way you approach the game, both tactically and diplomatically. And it's a ton of fun, never mind a great learning opportunity. Join up! You probably won't regret it.

Any others? I could lower the bid a bit if that's a barrier to people joining. I'd like to keep it fairly high but the most important thing is to get the game going. If I can get 1-2 more I'll set up the game and PM passwords.

So why is this called a Wilson Game, anyway? Is it a Home Improvement joke?

I always thought it was because of the 'Public Diplomacy' of President Woodrow Wilson. I think OP added 'genuine' to indicate that sending press is mandatory.

Well.. I'd say encouraged more than mandatory. Hard to enforce.

Dude, if someone joins a Public Press game and just Gunboats it the whole time, they're CLEARLY in the wrong dojo. Because, you know...I looked around the dojo for mercy. Checked those dusty lockers in the back that no one talks about. Nope, I couldn't find it. I even asked Sensei if there was ever any mercy in this dojo. You...well, you know what he said.
