Hi all, we're running a variant with communications on Discord that's played with teams. Credit goes to Chaqa for this idea!

Two players play each country, as a sort of coalition rule. They'll both be assigned the role of that country on the Discord server, with private channels for each team as well country-to-country conversations. Each country-to-country chat will have four people and two countries. I've played a couple of variants on Discord and I've found that in-server communication channels are not only easier to keep track of than direct messages, but are much more convenient to help a sub or replacement catch up on press.

The game itself will be on webDip and set to gunboat, with only one player of each team submitting the actual orders. I'm thinking 36 or 48 hour phases, and either unranked or DSS with a 5-point bet, but I'm open to changing that.

Some additional clarifications:
1. If the team member controlling the country on the site uses their excused missed turn, they will be replaced by the mods with their partner.
2. If the team member not controlling the country on the site stops playing, the game director (Aurelin) will attempt to find a replacement.
3. The game will be unranked.
4. Keeping press to the discord server will be honor based, and the mods will not be able to enforce penalties on anyone who violates press rules off the site.
5. Reasonable pauses will be granted if both team members are unavailable. If the team member controlling the country is the only one needing the pause, they will be swapped with their partner.
