Another contender goes down.
After winning 2 against the bot as France, I, too, lost game 3.

zultar's latest win as France against the bot :

https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?game ... #gamePanel

The bot, after being beaten a number of times by zultar due to the loss of Italy, changed its strategy in this game somewhat - prioritizing the holding of PIE and building five fleets.

In the end, zultar left MAR unsupported for one turn in order to get the last build he needed to win.

Well, the bot is certainly dominating as Austria in 1v1.

Of its last 100 games, the bot has LOST only SIX games as Austria, FIVE of which were to zultar, who also had one draw.

Excluding zultar's 6 games of the bot's last 106 games, the bot has LOST only one game (to a player it has subsequently beaten).

In the bot's last 81 games not played against zultar ,the bot is unbeaten as Austria.

And another win for dipperjay against the Austrian bot. Nice job !

https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?game ... #gamePanel

The bot has lost 8 in it's last 100.
zultar - 5 wins
dipperjay - 2 wins
martinck1 - 1 win

Yours truly has now dropped off the list. 108 games ago. So sad.

We have a new hero. Djantani tries a very different opening as France, and gets a win vs. the dreaded Austrian bot. Check out the early moves...

Actually my play against the bot is dreadful and was hoping nobody would see my pathetic attempts as I always lose apart from this one time where I got lucky.

My assessment od the bot, having tried it quickly a few times is as follows:

- not great at the start to the point that i always feel like I'm winning;
- outstanding from say 03 onwards whereby I go from feeling like I have got a winning position to losing all the time;
- the above could also be due to the fact that I play it blitz as I'm curious to see what happens and maybe could win more if thinking properly;
- all of the above makes me think that the bot is very good tactically, particularly when there are lots of pieces on the board (which is when tactics are key) and average strategically, which is what you need more at the start.
- the bot copies the opening I created when playing A 3 years ago (known as the Stalingrad) so I'm expecting copyrights to kick in ;)

Well, this could possibly be the longest 1v1 I have ever played ...

Let's put this bot back to where it belongs

Just when I started to think that beating Fairbot as Austria was quickly approaching the impossible, zultar does it in back to back games.

May I ask who the developers are - wouldn't mind chatting things through with them.

Thanks. I have got another win although its gone down as a loss as I lost the will to live entering orders for 200 years and missed a support. It would be good for the bot to resign once its the outcome is settled.

I fear we are getting close to having cracked the bot here - do we want to formally have 5 wins in a row against it?

My first win playing as France
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=336316

I won only because the bot made a bizarre move in 1903 involving Livonia.
