How to strategize about ongoing games

#1 Post by JECE » Wed Mar 21, 2018 9:17 pm

Unless you are in a special training game or something like that where asking for help is expected, you shouldn't discuss ongoing games on the Forum.

You can, however, pose questions in a generic way that dooesn't identify the game you are playing. Also, sending private messages or e-mails asking for advice is acceptable if the game isn't anonymous.

A great tool that doesn't require you to register annother account or install anything is the Politics Order Judge:
http://gamesbyemail.com/Games/Politics/Judge
You can turn it into a sandbox when using a computer. To clear the map and build your own scenario, click the "Clear board" hyperlink under "Other:" and then drag and drop the units from the white box to wherever you want them. To come back to a scenario you've created, copy the Permalink to the right of the board.

Regarding these orders, it shows which will fail, but it doesnt tell me who is dislogdged and who stays put. Am I missing something?

Two points here. First, anonymity isn't actually protected at all you're perfectly free to reveal yours or others' identities in anon games. Along the same lines, you're free to discuss them with others. Second, anything with limited press is more complicated. Make sure someone isn't in a game before you talk to them about it if it isn't full press.

morglum: F Nwy is dislodged. The only move that succeeds is StP-Nwy.

Keep in mind that if you don't want to give your orders away, you can ask about about a similar scenario on the other side of the board.
