confused about support

#1 Post by White_Phosphorus » Sun Feb 25, 2018 5:27 pm

I have a semi-technical question, I have read the rules, but they didn't talk about this. Imagine you're Russia and have troops in Warsaw and Moscow. You're worried about Warsaw being taken so you want to support it from moscow, but you also want the troop in Warsaw to do more than just hold, you really want it to cut a support in Selisia. Because selisia is supporting an attack on an ally this turn. Could you order Warsaw to advance to Selisia (expecting to cut the support and bounce back) and order Moscow to support Warsaw? Would that Moscow support be valid or would it be void because the Warsaw troop wasn't holding the whole time?

No.

You can only "support hold" a unit that does not move.
