So, total noob to this site...seems like all new games have an invite code. What is the etiquette for getting an invite?

If a game is made with an invite code then the players are probably already pre-determined. Look though the New Games tab to see the games that are open. Many will not need invite codes to join.

If you know who is creating the game and it looks like it hasn't got a full house, you can always PM them to join.

A really good way to get those invite codes:
-Don’t NMR or CD (this is short hand for failing to put in moves)
-Be invested in the game til the end.
-At game end talk to others and make friends. Some of the best games I’ve played were invite games with a few people I met on the site.
