Personally i'm not certain why "forumer of the year" is locked behind 200 posts.

People who post a lot do not necessarily have the most important things to say.

It's a ratio. If you didn't have a minimum then the top three would likely be dominated by people whose only post was to say "Hi, great site" and have someone plus 1 it.

Besides, it doesn't really mean anything at the end of the day.

(1) Ratio like Octavious mentioned
(2) While +1s aren't actually a useful metric in the least for determining a "best poster" award, they are an objective metric, which is critical for something as subjective and potentially polarizing as "best poster."

It means more than the stickers your teacher gave you in elementary school when you did something right, and those meant more than anything.

Congrats to xorxes, CptMike, and the other winners, as well as VI on being so damn good at barely losing. There were many other vote getters that finished outside the podium as well that deserve some credit. Nikola Maric Eto, ghug, swordsman3003, Djantani, CCR, and Ding56643 all got some consideration for POTY and NOTY as well, among others that I can't remember off the top of my head (sorry). Swordsman3003 in particular posted what is and will probably always be the best EOG of any game on this site and I think that was one of the more noteworthy things that happened on the site this past year. If you never got a chance to read it, it's worth digging up. All of the TDs and tournament winners from this past year deserve an award too but the mods are only human and haven't figured that out yet. Team Cascadia won the World Cup but it's not like that's very impressive so whatever.

Durga and CommanderByron started the Mentor Program this year and deserve a ton of credit for taking that initiative.

Can't think of anything else to say so toodles.

Clearly I'm the funniest person on this webdip, the reason my ratio is so off is because of all the mafia I play. But srsly, funniest person on the website, running the mentor program, represented and promoted webdip on the world stage, but still not a mod #themodteamissexist #firethemall

I would like that etched on my headstone when I die.

I want to know the methodology for picking poty "well you know this year we're prioritizing 1v1 but let's just randomly stick VI in the top 3 to make it pretend that we still care about diplomacy and this site hasn't been delegated to a low tier 1v1 mess"
Leave it to a FtFer to take things too seriously. ; )

Congrats to all the winners but let’s remember the losers too. There are more losers than winners on this site and I’m proud to be a member.

Peace and love.

I’ll be competing in the top mod category this year.

I made the list of posts coming in third despite enduring three silences

Which is nothing compared to what the rest of us endured in the non-silences ;)

Though I played my first game on this site 18 months ago, I already registered 6 years ago, and as such, I did not qualify for the category 'Newcomer of the Year'.

I am not even a loser. :(

Where were you a month ago Ghug when this voting was going on? I know you would have been the voice of reason.

I would have voted for me like I did last year, let's be honest.
