When I called for you to make sure the day didn't end in a tie the vote was 4-4 and the last vote was your vote on Bozo. If you just didn't see it then that's that.

I didn't see it; I think I shut things down when there were multiple residents with 2 votes and then didn't expect to see votes swing so heavily to a 4-4 tie.

If you're town then welcome to the club. I've been struggling to figure out how to go about it. You go into your first game thinking it's going to be easy to get read town and you're all going to find the scum.

I definitely felt it would be easier than this. Some people are pretty good at not being "readable" which raises the level of suspicion. I'm surprised I didn't jump on the EMC wagon. I need to go back through the thread to read what others read that ultimately laid their suspicion entirely on EMC.

Quickly you find that scum are trying to scumread you because you can't defend yourself. Townies are trying to get you to slip that you're scum because you'll fall for it. Some townies just full-on believe you're scum, and they won't stop till you're dead. Meanwhile you're trying to find those you think are town.

It's a pretty powerful lynch mob once it gets going.

For me, it was nothing but the fact that all of his posts were in the first hour and a half of the game, and then he just disappeared. It is now understandable that, as a doctor, he didn't want to attract much attention, but this silence went too far into the other end of the spectrum.

Im sure most of you already expected it, but Summit was fakeclaiming cop. Im hardclaiming the real cop. If he does not retract his claim right now, were lynching him 100%. Whether he is scum fakeclaiming or town doing some stupid gambit, i wasnt not 100% certain and there was too little time to sway the wagon back onto him.

That's a really good point about the posts in the beginning. Probably that prolonged absences drew more attention, obviously.

First, my deepest apologies for what is a colossal GM fuckup.

At game start, a player on the mafia team was mistakenly sent a VT role PM. They were unaware and played up to this point believing they were VT. They have been updated on their actual role at this point.

I believe the game can be salvaged by proceeding from this point with full transparency, with Town knowing that a Mafia player played as Town for Day 1.

However, if people believe this is not tenable, I can re-roll and reset the game and we can start new. Or, worst case, cancel if there is player attrition.

For now, Night 1 will end at the currently scheduled time. Day 2 will be shortened by 2 hours.

Oh.

So now we have all people who looked townie on D1 under suspicion?

So how is this going to change the communication patterns?

I would consider all reads based solely on D1 (i.e. all up to this point) duly invalid. Looks like we will have to figure everyone out anew.

If the game is restarted, will all the roles remain the same or will they be reshuffled? Overall, I am fine with any decision, depending on whether the messup is decided by more experienced players to have much impact or not. Restarting might be a good thing, at least because we will have a new doctor, but then EMC must participate or another player be found.

Restarting would involve a re-roll and, I assume, we'd have to replace EMC as it seems he's too busy / elsewhere to participate.
