Having the game appear on the front page makes it easier to see when things are happening, maybe reminds players that they should participate, makes it easier for spectators to follow along, and makes it easier for new players to check out the games.

We didn’t put a Hidden tag on M50 and it was fine. I don’t see the point of having them hidden and unless someone tells me to I’m not gonna bother.

If you want to play a PC game there are other mediums for that and I encourage you to seek them out.

I wasn’t aware mafia threads were exempted from site rules - I don’t think there’s any reason to be more awful and disgusting just because it’s a game. If your post breaks site rules it can’t be legal regardless of hidden status or not, IMO, and if you don’t think you can maintain a level of basic decency, feel free to not play.

We didn't use to hide Mafia threads. This happened while I was gone, and I don't really understand the necessity/reasoning for it. It doesn't seem to be a rule I've found anywhere. Maybe Tom or Dargo could enlighten me.

But we forgot to do it for M50 and it was fine. Like I said, if someone doesn't think they can play mafia and stay within the site's rules, don't play.

That being said will say this;

Did like the mafia thread showing on front pages since it is easier in terms of access and reminder, as well as it was why I got pulled into this game.

But, will admit I also find people trashposting entertaining as hell, especially as it gets creative. Quality bants should be refined, not degenerated into generic, garbage run-of-the-mill insults. So I suppose this ends as argument for unhidden as long as people get more subtle, lmao

So everything that's allowed but they don't want staining gets shunted into hidden status, which included us. It's kind of like how you have a cousin who makes a good portion of disposable income off of furry merch but when other people ask you say that they're a freelance artist.

Sorry to interject here but there's been some comments in this thread that have been a bit much. Specifically telling people to fuck off and calling each other retards. We had started privately messaging people asking them to tone it down but some members had the reasonable concern that changing their behavior mid game might be a noticed change in their meta. So now everyone please forgive anyone who stops significantly cussing people out and using the word retard to describe people.

We like to give this sub-forum a lot of freedom but this was unfortunately appearing quite often in the top of every member's home page view so the other admins and I feel the intervention is necessary.

I'm not going to ask you be respectful cause this is a game of mafia, but please tone it down a little.

Normally I'd just add [HIDDEN] to the thread title to remove this thread from the home page view, but it is my understanding that would mess with the bot. We will work with the next TD's to ensure we can hide these comments so you can all insult to you meta's content in the next game.

See the JMO post above. I would also encourage the council members to comment but if you dont hide it then anytime someone uses any profanity you run the risk of JMO hiding the thread or possibly having to remove players from the game for using some curse words.
