Yeah, that doesn't seem so wise. Also, what happened to your one goal being making me lose? :-D Oh well, I'm going to have enemies regardless at this score.
He obviously saw me as the biggest threat ;)

Phase 5:

Phase rule: All joins for this phase are public and you can leave and join a new coalition at any point. Also, you can disband a coalition if you're the only one in there. This phase will last anywhere between 5 to 7 days to prevent prearranged last-minute shenanigans

Coalitions available:

The “Popular” Coalition: This coalition has a normal leader and anyone can join it. Each player in the largest popular coalition will gain 24/n points. Additionally, the leader of the largest popular coalition gains a bonus 2 points. Any popular coalition that is not the largest popular coalition gains 0 points. If two or more popular coalitions are tied in being the largest, each member of the coalitions is awarded 12/n points, and no leader bonuses are received.

The “Double Gamble” Coalition: This coalition has a normal leader and anyone can join it. Each player in a gamble coalition where n is divisible by 3 gains 12 points, while players in gamble coalition not divisible by 3 gain 0 points

The “Unpopular” Coalition: This coalition has a normal leader and anyone can join it. Each player in the smallest unpopular coalition gains 3n points. Additionally, the leader of the smallest unpopular coalition gains a bonus 2 points. Any unpopular coalition that is not the smallest unpopular coalition gains 0 points. If two or more unpopular coalitions are tied in being the smallest, each member of the coalitions is awarded 3n/2 points, and no leader bonuses are received.

Are coalition creations/disbands restricted in the last 24 hours per usual? Also, can I get an exact time on the end of phase at least 24 hours before? You can bet there will still be last minute shenanigans still.

Guys, we can be much more coordinated in our efforts here since joins are public.

##Create Popular Coalition for now.

Perhaps if we don't know the exact time of the end of phase, waiting to the last minute will not be possible. But we should know the deadline on creation of coalitions. I would assume 24 hours after the start of the phase.

Tr is right. The idea is that the flexible end time prevents (most) shenanigans.

Well, this will be an interesting phase. Unfortunately, the game took longer than I thought it would due to delayed and extended phases, so I may have to drop out. (Of course depending on how long this phase lasts :-D ) I have a few more days, but until then, ##join popular.

Bob I might need you to get off this popular coalition so I can be more flexible. It looks like unpopular coalitions have the most potential this phase

Do they? I might Double Gamble and get no points but retain my dignity.

Well if all of us join the same Unpopular we all get 27 points (+2 for leader). But if Squigs keeps his Popular and we all do that we get 24 and he gets 26. I feel like one of these scenarios will probably happen if no else creates another unpopular.

If anyone has any ideas how the rest of us can keep the leaders from gaining as many points as we do, I would like to hear them. Maybe paid self-sacrifice? But it would have to be widely coordinated, and with everything public it's hard to pull any tricks.

That's not how popular works. Its 24 divided by the number of people in it.
