What rule did he break? Quote it.rdrivera2005 wrote:

I think he didn't break any explicit rule, but I still think it was against the game spirit. Imagine if all players decide to "prove" his role that way, it's not what the game is about.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:52 pmWhat rule did he break? Quote it.rdrivera2005 wrote:

If you can't, what new rule do you propose? Draft it.
How is it against the spirit of the game? I claimed I was a VT and hinted that I had received the exact same VT role PM as posted on the OP (which is implied by a claim).rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 1:43 amI think he didn't break any explicit rule, but I still think it was against the game spirit. I would suggest a rule that says that any question about GM messages and role messages should be dealt with the GMs on private messages and not in game thread. In fact, if I were GM I would forbid any direct call to GM on the main thread. If you have something to ask to GMs you should do it privately and the GM decides if there is a need to post the answer on the main thread. Just a suggestion.
I don't think you should be punished as you didn't break any rule. What I want is a rule to avoid bringing things outside of the game like PMs into the thread. There was once a rule against bets that have the same spirit.ChippeRock wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 2:12 amHow is it against the spirit of the game? I shouldn't be punished for manipulating you guys into thinking I thought I had a genuine way to mechanically prove I was a VT. It should of been obvious that there was no way to break the game - as previously stated by worcej & Jamiet. It was a big gamble to make, but it guaranteed I didn't get mislynched.

Oh yeah, I agree (other intentional elements of my game play certainly had a much greater impact) - but it certainly started me on the right note to getting a universal VT read.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 10:39 amChippe writes: "It was a big gamble to make, but it guaranteed I didn't get mislynched."
True, you did 'that claim thing.' True, you didn't get mislynched. But the two were not connected causally.

Sure it did. Nobody even bothered to read me or even suspect me of being non-town after that - and I just reinforced that opinion with the rest of my play.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 6:40 pmI really don't think it did.ChippeRock wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 4:40 pmOh yeah, I agree (other intentional elements of my game play certainly had a much greater impact) - but it certainly started me on the right note to getting a universal VT read.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 10:39 amChippe writes: "It was a big gamble to make, but it guaranteed I didn't get mislynched."

By "read", I mean "detailed read/ISO".ChippeRock wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 6:58 pmSure it did.
