How do you not like it, a few pages ago you were just saying how FoxCastle is scum

I mean, you don't think that takes work? Obviously I don't know much code but that illustrates gamesolving man. It kind of makes me see him in a different light now.

I'm not denying he put in a lot of effort into the game, but putting a lot of effort into the game shouldn't be a significant criteria when it comes to reading people as scum or town.

What is significant criteria for you Chippe? Detailed reads lists? All that takes is effort.

There are 13 people. He was working off the assumption that himself and Neph were town. So that is 11 possible choices to build a 4 person team.

To calculate this, you use combinations, so 11 choose 4. This is equal to (11)(10)(9)(8)/(4)(3)(2)(1) = 330.

No. If it were a permutation, then it would just be the (11)(10)(9)(8), but it is a combination. With combinations, ordering doesn't matter, so you divide by the possible ways to order those teams (4)(3)(2)(1).

Now I am curious. How did you get 8000?

So its a wash, spreadsheet or not, it shouldn't be the end all be all to who is scum and who is not
Maybe spreadsheets and a lot of effort in the game should be factors but NOT EVERYTHING
Look at the other evidence it outweighs it 100 million times

Durga, we just put teacon ahead of Fox. Maybe I should think about this some more and make sure I am not getting spreadsheet-blinded. Someone tell me I am crazy for thinking Fox is town or something.

Your shift for this is kinda crazy. I mean, I did tell everyone I had analytic methods coming, and I'm psyched that there is at least some confirmation of my thoughts about game (if you squint real hard), but even so. (On the other hand, if I were scum, I would probably not be doing this, no.)

The spreadsheet thing is town indicative imo. Could you bothered as scum? Maybe but that's a lot of effort to gain a bit of town cred.

Teacon do you wish you had done a spreadsheet?

I would like to see you make a spreadsheet and comb through over 300 possible scumpairings in "like 2 seconds".

Do you even know how spreadsheets work, that can happen AUTOMATICALLY

Flav, if this is so easy, I want to see you do it. Make a spreadsheet with every single 4 person scumteam possibility. Then go through them and get rid of every single pairing that would not make sense based on a re-read of the game. Let me know how long it takes you.

Actually, combinations lists are really irritating to calculate in a spreadsheet. They are not a predefined function, and the excel "extensions" aren't all that elegant or simple (and I don't install them anyway). Definitely not automatic, let alone AUTOMATIC.

But if you google "combination list generator", you will find something that does do it in 2 seconds.

The whole project was about 2.5 hours, I think. (Well, 2.5 episodes of Good Omens, so probably faster if you're not distracted.) That includes tracking down all my exclusion pairs (and I don't intend to tell you how or why I picked them, because I intend to deploy this in future games) and cutting down the lists and staring and thinking and everything.
