And it's not so much as omgus as the fact that you're like, missing things from the way you post - whether it's setup details (yes, scum have a daychat - but pretty sure bb said that in the signup thread tho), or the way that you presented the no-lynch argument (with maths, rather than arguing not enough information can be obtained, even with a flip, due to the lack of people posting), as well as the fact that some of your replies just give off, I dunno, a detached feeling?

Sure, it can be put down to not having played mafia for awhile, but it's also a tactic :P

I don't understand the part about NL. As in, I don't exactly know what you're trying to say.
Yes, I presented my argument with math. That's what I do. I like math.

By the way, we have a 10.2% chance of victory now with random lynches. It's because we need to hang two scum in the next three lynches, or it's over.

What I meant by that was, didn't like the method you chose to advocate the no-lynch idea for, because it's easier to fake mechs and a lot harder to fake tone - and the mechs way is passive/easy for scum to do

I think that's a bit harsh, but I understand what you're saying. I think I addressed valid concerns here. I've had to correct you on some interpretations as well, so you're holding me to different standards than yourself.

But it's true that I'm not all there. Most of this happens while I sleep, so I read it as one big block when I wake up. It's a different experience.

Now that you mention it, it is true xd

expectations for self: don't be super stupid, try and be helpful commenting on everything noticed because I suck at mafia in general

expectations for everyone else: be good and actually solve the game and avoid being mislynched.

Yes, that's probably a personality thing.

If you read back, I actually just wanted to share math to show how bad the NL idea was and discredit anyone who proposed that idea. But then I did more calculations and surprised myself to find out NL was actually mathematically a good idea.

I do admit that makes the tl;dr of those three posts
1) "NL is a horrible idea"
2) "Actually, it's a great idea."
3) "But we shouldn't try because it's too hard to enforce."

It's because I was trying to figure stuff out, rather than acting on a pre-determined goal. If you know what I mean.

Ultimately, I think we should look at it like this:

There's two teams in this game.

Town: Clueless, trying to figure stuff out and looking out of suspicious behaviour.

Mafia: These two know it all. They confidently eliminate townies and try to rally others to their cause. They will do anything to avoid death.

Have a look at the player list Ike just posted and sort people into these two categories.

the problem with confidence is that someone like squigs (who has gotten good enough most times to be, until now xD), or not in this game (bb, vecna, jamie) who are just cocky lol

so just squigs basically, or vapor now that I think

imo looking at train-of-thought is more evident, since flow/jumps are more "has extra knowledge?" showing

Vecna and I played 2-4 really fun RL games of Mafia (or rather, a variant) last year. In the first one, he won as scum by sheeping. I was constantly trying to explain the game and my thoughts to him but he was just playing dumb. He played me like a fiddle.

almost everyone is lurking more than usual, and dunno if activity level is still a useable gauge for scumminess - it's usually an okay variable to judge, but this game has been out-of-wack enough that I can't tell who's not talking cuz they usually don't talk, not talking cuz they don't have material to respond to, and not talking cuz they're talking in scumchat hah
