Thats 19 btw. Let’s not go for 20 until people can get some free guesses in.
I am in a good mood on this Friday afternoon and made a silly pick. I would rather not give too many hints beyond the ones I have already given out (which may or may not have been noticed), so I will allow us to go to 22 or 23 questions, if necessary.

Jeez… there’s so many BBC comedies. I’m struggling to narrow down my search results

What can I say - I guess British people are funny.

I will note that Spartaculous did make a strange typo, spelling programme as programmmme. Either this is a hint, or I'm very paranoid.

I guess it's a hint but I don't get it.

Not a hint - just me being silly about British spelling.

Has the show this character is primarily famous from ever been nominated for a BAFTA TV award (in any category, including for acting to the extent the acting took place for the show, directing, production, etc.)

Yes.

Did the show win "Best Comedy Series" at the TV Baftas in 2008 or in a year since then?

No, but you're getting closer ...

Is it a character from one of these programmes?

Outnumbered
Miranda
Come Fly With Me
Rev
Episodes
Count Arthur Strong
The Wrong Mans
Fleabag
Mum
Ghosts
Alma's Not Normal
Am I Being Unreasonable?

(All of which are BBC comedy programmes (mostly sitcoms) which were nominated for BAFTAs between 2008 and 2023 but did not win).

I doubt the "No" answer was based on this, but "Best Comedy Series" is NOT a BAFTA category. The awards are divided into "Best Comedy Entertainment Program" and "Best Scripted Comedy".

I would love to say the Taskmaster because I love Greg Davies, but that is not really a character. The Taskmaster IS Greg Davies.

I will clarify to say that it won neither of these awards.

And for one last time, I will remind everyone that this was a ridiculously silly pick.

I was just going to post that it’s not a comedy and likely a game show or other genre (hence the dodge on the comedy question), so would fit…

I agree that Taskmaster is a great show. I had a friend who introduced me to Taskmaster some years ago. This friend (again, some years ago) also introduced me to the character in question in this round. I recently rediscovered this character....

Jimmy Carr was not involved, so it's not a game show.

I also want to say Tinky Winky, because we recently had a Teletubbies subject, but I would say that is unambiguously a children's show (even though we all got stoned watching it in university).
