It is the norm on some other sites, yes.
By all means, experiment. Personally, I have to say, I absolutely hate it.
Being able to talk at night, and being able to assess immediate responses to the flip, is actually a quirk of our way of doing things, that I think is a really positive feature.
In my own experience on other sites, being arbitrarily prevented from participating, for an entire day if you are Town, while the Mafia are allowed to continue playing, is a massive buzzkill. In at least one MU game I actually almost got modkilled because I stopped checking the game, due to being banned from posting during the night.
I'm with you here 100% Jamie, but it's something people here have been curious about for a while, and there's not great harm in trying anything once.
Sure, by all means, let us conduct the experiment.
I think this experiment will prove my hypothesis that our traditional ways are superior to the traditions of those know-nothing scrubs over at MafiaScum or MafiaUniverse.
Smashing the +1 button!
But yeah, I appreciate Chaqa trying this out, even if I strongly suspect that it will not be as fun as having night chat.

2. There will be a 150 post maximum per player per day. This is to ensure it is easy for all players to keep up with the game thread and to not allow anyone to overwhelm the game thread.
a ) How will this be policed? If someone fails to keep count of their own activity and inadvertently makes a 151st post, will you modkill them?
ii ) Do naked votes with no other text count as "posts" for this purpose? (I assume "yes" because I assume you will use the Peterbot to count them).
Γ ) If someone makes 150 posts of glorious content, but forgets to place a vote, will you let them post a vote at EoD, or will you modkill them for not meeting the voting requirement?
Ghug and I discussed the practicalities of this a bit and I think the easiest thing to do is lift the post limit in the final hour of the day phase.

That's a good approach, I think, yes.
What about question (a) ?

How so?
I think it started with someone saying something like “spew not paired uwu” and it’s been downhill from there.

I was just going to use the bot post count and people go over it at their peril.

UPDATE:
I have read the setup.
I am moderately opposed to normally using the no-thread during the night rule, but using it once to see how it goes is entirely reasonable.
##CALL GM
For the ItemSmith/Beekeeper role:
-What is "day-vig"? ("BEES!")
-Can you give multiple people, on different nights, the same item?
-How long does the Beekepeer's suit block a kill? Does it block a kill the night it is given? Does it wear off?
-Does the final vote count show who had Honey?
For the Cop role:
-Does the Cop result return the role of the target, or just their alignment?
For the Godfather role:
-What is the Godfather role?
So, the game is set in a meadery. Is this a Viking meadery? A modern meadery? A cypberpunk meadery? A steampunk meadery? A meadery made of mead?

I can answer some of these based on standard Mafia conventions:
- Day Vigilante can kill one other person during a Day phase (one-use action).
- The inventor / smith has exactly one of each item, they cannot give multiples.
- Armour lasts until the person is attacked, and is then expended.
- Standard Cops learn alignment, not role.
- Godfather scans as town if investigated by a Cop.

No, items are only to give to other players

A gun that can be shot during a day phase. I will clarify this for the game thread.
-Can you give multiple people, on different nights, the same item?
Each item is 1-shot. I will clarify this in the game thread as well.
-How long does the Beekepeer's suit block a kill? Does it block a kill the night it is given? Does it wear off?
Permanent
-Does the final vote count show who had Honey?
It will show which wagon had the extra vote, but not who on the wagon had the Honey
For the Cop role:
-Does the Cop result return the role of the target, or just their alignment?
Alignment
For the Godfather role:
-What is the Godfather role?
Scans as town
So, the game is set in a meadery. Is this a Viking meadery? A modern meadery? A cypberpunk meadery? A steampunk meadery? A meadery made of mead?
It is set within my D&D world and will provide some sort of canonical backstory to a region my D&D campaign is heading to down the line.
