I have a 2005 laptop running on windows 6 that I use to play “Snake” and “Pong”

I’d highly recommend this model for seaking all of your gaming pleasures at a fair price. I hope I could help :)

hey bud, you definitely do not want to buy a dell from walmart and then try to "soup" it up. What kind of budget do you have for building a computer? I've built a couple and can offer some resources and help. Feel free to pm me

I mean do you want a full massive ATX desktop...or would you like power in a smaller form factor (e.g. mini-ATX/ITX etc.) or it doesn't matter?

ok well a goodp lace to start is to decide on a budget. Like what the max ur willing to spend is. I decently high end self-built computer will cost you about 1200. this does not include a monitor. A middle of the road PC to play games like ur describing you could build for like 800 or so, maybe less w/ a monitor if you really deal hunted.

I think the price range Kingdroid is saying is most realistic. If you want any staying power on the desktop, you'll want a NVIDIA GTX 1060 or a rough equivalent as a starting point. That alone is gonna cost you $250-300ish. I find sites like wirecutter or pcgamer give good reviews so you can get a starting point on what best fits your expectations.

First thing you need to decide how much performance you want (i.e. are you wanting to game on a 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 or 4K monitor/TV) and how much you are willing to pay. A reasonable place to start is here:

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/be ... ,4380.html

If you want to use anything other than the very bottom GPU there, you are going to need to build your own as the PSU on a standard desktop won't cut it.

If you are going to choose one of the higher GPUs, the next steps will be:

(1) to figure out the power supply you will need and make sure it has all the connectors necessary for the GPU (as everything but the bottom one needs more power than the motherboard can supply - they need additional direct connectors to the PSU)
(2) how big the thing is so you can get the size of the case
(3) Then choose a motherboard, CPU and memory compatible with this setup (at least 16GB of RAM, AMD Ryzen is probably the best value CPU series at the moment).
(4) Finally choose what disk you will go with.

How fast are your fingers? I've seen 50 fps by experts.

I've got an old NCR "tower" series Server with quad processors that runs Unix software in my "tools & technology museum"..... Not for sale, but I wonder if that might be "game ready" ???
The good news is that today I visited the chap who runs a local music store & gets my "DVD imports" & he's getting for me a DVD set of the complete "Milton the Monster" cartoons, possibly including some "Fearless Fly" cartoons.
We've been looking for these for a while using internet thingy searches & a search today threw up one "Milton the Monster" DVD set for sale in the USA with an asking price of $US 250-00 and one complete set of Milton the Monster DVDs for sale in Australia with an asking price of $Aus 120-00.
I'm getting the set from the seller in Australia at the much more reasonable price & have given the chap in the shop the $Aus 120-00 & will pay him $30- when they arrive, presumably next week, for his services. I'm pleased with this development, I was considering getting VCR tapes of these cartoons and then getting them transferred to DVD.
During my wandering today through three local "Charitable Organisations Shops" I also picked up six other DVDs including the movies "Twelve O'Clock High" with Gregory Peck & "Action in the North Atlantic" with Humphrey Bogart... All six DVDs at $Aus 3-00 each.
Then I purchased some Penrite oil (mineral oil, not synthetic oil ) & an oil filter for the light blue Mercedes Panzer Benz saloon. I also purchased some much needed Laphroaig single malt "neck oil" for my own consumption.
Her Most Beautiful Imperiousness, The Lovely Fire Breathing MemSahib needed some several hundreds of dollars of "lollygagging about" cash as well & Mistress Estelle's lingerie fund required a boost and as both are worthy causes they were lavishly indulged.
The iniquitous Council Rates notice for 2018/19 has arrived, these blooming bureaucrats & local politicians have NO understanding of the fiscal pressures on my hard pressed wallet.

also, once you've done some research on parts, pcpartpicker.com is a great way to find deals and test compatibility of your rig before you buy everything

Dell - Inspiron Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - 128GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive - Recon Blue - Larger Front
Item you're currently viewing
$1,029.99

Should I not just buy an already made gaming PC? You said price wise itd be 800-1200$ anyway. This looks like it has the specs you all mentioned. Plus Dell is pretty reliable from my experiemce. The lone bad experience I had was my cat spilling vodka on my laptop and frying it out.

Basically, can u link me to the sale ur talking about? That could be a good deal, but I'd need to see specifics before I can say anything about it
