I would love to contribute to this college radio station. Any theme or anything at the time?

No planned themes at the moment! In the past I've done stuff like formlessness, read a chapter of Frankenstein, or just read random poems I like between short sets of songs that were on the lyrical side. The past host did a correlation/causation episode and, on another occasion, had people in to do a sort of radio play of a Sonic fan-fiction. He was a lot better at sound editing/production than I was, but I have access to recording and editing software. Really anything goes. You can email me at [email protected] if you have content you want to share (not sure about the email rules on this forum so hopefully that goes through).
To the last response, I totally don't mind reading it myself, just wanted to give the opportunity if anyone was interested.

Oh, but maybe important to note - can't read "shit" or "fuck" on the radio.

A thousand years ago, an empire named Tang China

Ruled the land of millions of people

There was a woman who gave birth to two from her vagina

It was time of war for people people, full of chaos. Tang was suffering upheaval.

This was the third time the authorities came

Knocking on the door they demanded a man from the household

Begged the woman her husband is the only man left with the family name

The soldiers demand her husband to come, while to the woman they scold

The woman does not give up; the woman gets on her knees

She cries and whines. Her eldest has not came back for a decade

Her second son has been away since he was drafted for the sea

Now they are taking a seventy year old man. She is afraid

He is old and weak. Her young sons couldn't return. This man will die for sure.

She'd rather go to the war in his stead. She exclaims, she entreats

No point in surviving alone. She'd rather die for her husband. She tries to allure

The guards don't listen. They push the women away, rejecting her on repeat.

The guards forcefully take the man away. The women is on the ground alone.

She sobs, weeps, and whimpers.

No one will ever understand her tragedy. Such impropriety will never be known

She's lost her sons and, now, her husband. She has nothing left. She is all alone for the upcoming winter.

A dream
Merely just a dream
Filled with high hopes, unrealitsic desires, and goals to just be free
But most importantly,
aspirations to be what he felt he was meant to be

A musician he said!
Mocked and ignored, he further furrowed his brow
Attempt after attempt to make only himself proud
Time after time after time his life became a shroud
For he played his music far too loud

As his fingers glided across ivory,
As his eyes scanned page after page
Note after note
Laughing fits and cold insults fueled how he wrote

A new sound they began to say
Filled with minor chords and sounds of dismay
Filled with diminished 7ths
With chordal tones uncentered
He played so much he got splinters from the rotted ivory
Oh the irony
That the laughing the mocking and the failure to adore
Were what fueled your son to be more and more and more and more
Than just a piss poor musician with nothing worth listening for

A dream,
merely just a dream, they said

Experience is the most lonely and amazing thing in the world
When you’ve felt something other people haven’t it makes you feel like you’re at the top
It makes you feel like you’ve done something right
Like you’re the light still shining in that 4 story complex in the middle of the night

But much like that lonely lit window
You sit down in the middle of a sea of dark, a great shining beacon that’s invisible to the rest of the sleeping world
You’ve felt love and you know you could never explain what it means
You know other people might say they understand,
but you also know that there’s literally nobody else in the world that held her in your innocent arms under that street light at exactly 9:39 in the frigid february air on a sunday night.

Experience is lonely because you know it’s impossible to transmit that feeling you had to anyone.
The sea is dark to you and everyone else, but what people fail to realize is that everybody’s beacons are beaming with beauty from their own frigid nights
From their own roller coaster rides
From their own friday night fight nights
From their own victories
Their own hurrahs

Experience is amazing because when you look down your 4th story complex window late at night, you know that you have your own story.
Even though it might hurt to know your light will never be looked down on by a viewer up above,
I know I’ll close my blind tonight having my own personal knowledge of love.
