Late 20s, so millennial. I came across the game from a D&D video....no really. A gentleman by the name Matt Colville used it as a reference and suggested those looking to DM in a "politically sophisticated game" play Diplomacy to introduce how someone who only sees the world in terms of power might view the world. (When it comes down to it Diplomacy is all about taking power, keeping it, and denying it to others.)

45 (yes, I am one of the oldies here).
I started playing diplomacy 28 years ago. A friend of mine was a fan of the strategy games depicting battles in detail (back then, all in tabletop, no PC games yet) and got me involved as I was always deep in history study. Looking for a game on WWI, we found diplomacy. And we enjoyed it. I haven't played a face to face game since this era, and I hadn't played at all until I joined this site.

Another 69er. First played in the early Seventies in engineering college South Wales U.K. Joined this site some years ago now, not having played for centuries due to lack of face to face opponents. The site is great, keep up the good work.

34 and playing for just about a year and a half, only on this site so far. Learned about the game by coincidence on the web when searching for something where you can play Austria-Hungary.

I'm 18 now but I started playing Diplomacy when I was 13. That's a pretty young age, no wonder why I have so many lost games. (I still keep losing though). I found this site after seeing a research on trust in a science magazine. The research was made on diplomacy game and I decided to give it a try, playing ever since.

45 (I like to think of myself as the "Oregon Trail Generation" as I don't really identify completely with really either Gen X or Gen Y as I've heard them described) although I started playing Diplomacy somewhere around age 34 (I can't remember now if it was 2009, 2010, or 2011).

I'm 14, and have been been playing for 4 years. The first two years I spent training under my dad, these last two I've been playing on my own.

I can make the game, do you guys have preferences on phase length or other settings?
If you're still looking for players, I am willing to jump in as well!

I'm 48 and have been playing since I was in high school in the late 80's. I played through the PBEM judges era and then there was a longer break before I suddenly discovered web-based, first and primarily here. Now I imagine that I'll play for the rest of my life. :-)

In fact, having joined a 10-day clock game, I may be playing a current game for the rest of my life.

I'm 25, which means that back in the good old days around 2015 when my persona shined through on this forum in such lovable, professional ways I was about 8.
Bo, have you considered playing some games to improve your math skills? I recommend Uno.

Cutting the lid of a tin can and counting the rings clearly does not have the accuracy of counting rings of a cut tree trunk.

How shiny is ATC's lid lately? Does it have a well aged patina? Is it securely attached & not flapping in winds?
