Is good beer but seriously I have gathered some information that might make listening to the news a bit more tolerable when they show these humongous fear factor numbers on TV all day:
World population for 2017 = 7.5 Billion. 7,500,000,000.
Daily Worldwide Deaths, all causes for 2017 = ~150,000. Per DAY.
US population for 2017 = 326 Million. 326,000,000.
Daily USA Deaths, all causes for 2017 = 7,708. Per DAY.
Daily USA Deaths, from new corona virus = only ~50 (latest) for whole country.
Daily USA Deaths, from drug overdose, 2017 ~ 190.
Daily USA Deaths, from Suicide, 2018 ~ 130.
Daily USA Deaths, from Heart Disease, 2017 ~ 1800.
Number of critically ill people in the US in ICUs, at any given time, for all causes, 2010 estimate = 64,000.
Total ICU beds in US ~ 95,000, 68% occupied. This leaves ~30,000 available ICU beds in the US. 2010 estimate.
Number of people that get the Flu every year in the US, high estimate, 2019 = 51 Million. 51,000,000.
Number of people that go to the doctor for Flu in the US, high estimate, 2019 = 25 Million. 25,000,000.
Number of people that are hospitalized in the US because of the Flu, high estimate, 2019 = 710,000.
Number of people that die from the Flu in the US, high estimate, 2019 = 59,000.
Number of people that died from the new corona virus in China ~3000.
Keep these numbers in mind when they keep dramatizing everything in the Fake News. ex.) 200,000 CASES. OOOOOHHH SCARY! There were 51,000,000 cases of regular flu. Total new corona virus cases in THE WORLD, mind you, are ONLY 0.4% of the Flu Cases in the USA Alone!!! So it's Nothing!
To put some numbers into words:
Every day, 150,000 people die in the world. In the US, nearly 8000 people die every day. The corona virus is causing 50 deaths per day currently in the US. Worldwide, at maximum, the virus was causing ~817 deaths per day. This is less than the number of people in the US that are critically ill and succumb to cancer EVERY DAY ~ 1600.
There are ~95,000 ICU beds in the US. Occupancy rates for all the ICU beds was 68% in 2010, so ~30,000 ICU beds are likely currently available in the US. https://www.sccm.org/Communications/Cri ... Statistics
