Petition: Save the eternal stalemate!

#1 Post by BobMcBob » Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:38 pm

For all you who haven't yet seen... https://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=242215
In this game we have achieved the ultimate stalemate. Yet bo_sox plans to undo all our hard work and cancel the game! This is an outrage, an injustice! We must not let these elitist mods destroy all comprtition for pacifist diplomacy! This game deserves to continue, not to be cancelled!

Likewise, there's no rhyme or reason to that game being cancelled, and bo_sox is abusing his mod powers if he does so.

Haven't you already achieved all you can in that game? It is an impressive feat to secure eternal peace but since the outcome is already given, I see no reason to continue it.

Do you have something against the year 2020? Or 2120? Or 2520? Don't those years deserve a chance?

The game should have been cancelled a very long time ago.

Diplomacy, and this site as a resource, is not intended to be a 7-player co-op game.

If that's what you want, go and play 'Zombie Apocalypse' or something!

It's a game. It's for having fun.

This.
This is fun.

Try to keep the game going until everyone in the game die from old age.

Now, that.
That would be fun.

Respectively no, yes, yes and no. In game years don't matter and if you disagree I'm sure there's a modern variant somewhere that starts so late some of those might come up.

It's just a waste of server resources at this point and slightly more work for people who want to see how long it took to achieve that remarkable game state and how it was achieved.

BTW, I'm psychic and human civilization really goes downhill after 2049, which is why I dislike most of the years you mentioned.

Since nothing can change, the game should be ended, but not cancelled. It is something very unique. It's a pity you haven't take care of this Turkish army.
