I guess mine is a derivative of my real name, other than that I don't know what ovic is. I used to read it like its pronounced in Turkish: ovige (I don't know pronunciation alphabet like Durga, I only write a word it would sound like). Later I started to pronounce it like Google Translate does (c like k).
I wish I could change it into something meaningful, or someone find a meaning for ovic so I could explain it to other people.
Maybe it's a derivative of 'ovary'.

Not much to explain here; mass-energy equivalence, hitchhikers guide, voila!

that, and the fact it matches my initials, haha.

With the facade of finding out about other people, but with the real reason of wanting to answer publicly a question I hear far too often..,
@ everyone
What does your user name signify/mean/point to?

My son and I used to watch the scifi show, "Firefly." He liked the stupid character Rygel, and I liked the Supurb character Ka D'argo.

When he and I started joining gaming sites online (back when we used Morse Code,) he chose the name RygelKaD... and I chose the name Dargorygel. He has long since stopped playing internet games. But I have kept the Dargorygel.

Your turn. (Unless your UserName is FredJones1005... then I don't care.)
I think I've pronounced your name dargory-gel, dar-gargoyle, and dargoreglygle, but never dargo-rygel. Good to know.

My older brothers gamer tag was Squigishly (not sure where he got that), and I thought he was pretty cool at the time, so I picked the shortened Squigs for my gamer tag. 44 was my favorite number and my basketball number.

JMO (Just my opinion) is my favorite abbreviation, and 11211 is my zip in New York. The 09 is for the liberal-conservative political party in the Czech Republic that I follow news on.

Peter Wiggin is a very moral character who would never backstab anybody from a science fiction series written by a guy who's not at all homophobic and definitely didn't sell out and put his name on a bunch of low-quality collaborations later in his life.

Senlac is where the invaders under Duke William of Normandy defeated the Saxons under Harold Godwinson in 1066, commonly known as the Battle of Hastings. I visited as a history obsessed schoolboy on the 1966 anniversary & was always fascinated by the story of the last successful English invasion.
I’ve used the name ever since where a “nom de plume” is required.
Mwhaha, the English like to believe that's the last successful invasion.. I forgive you though, as a history obsessed schoolboy in '66 you didn't have the luxury of wikipedia and had to rely on state propaganda.

Eudes d'Aquitaine etait le plus grand duc d'Aquitaine.
Even with the magnificent resource of Wikipedia you’ve lost me. I see many references to this Duke of Aquitaine, but they all predate 1066 & don’t involve Britain. What invasion are you referring to that was so successful as to be undetected?..

My username is a combination of some of my favorite things. The J is for the programming language I learned to code in. The MO11 is my favorite little cafe in Cairo. And the 21109 was my favorite lego exoskeleton growing up.

There once was a man called Winston Churchill. He was all but popular in his early days, because he stuck with ideas and positions that did not just follow the public opinion. Not only did his ideas run contrary to the majority's ideas, but also to my thoughts and ideas in several respects, although admittedly with the advantage of hindsight.

But although I may not agree in some respects with him, I particularly admire how he was able to hold his ground, remain authentic, vouch against populist thoughts (unfortunately something which politicians have been failing to do the past years), and of course how he was able to be diplomatic in an unorthodox manner and exploit those diplomatic skills to the fullest extent. He was in several respects a brilliant diplomat, contributing to history's most crucial periods and victories.

Additionally, in 1901, when this game starts, he was to turn 27, about the same age as I was when I first started playing this wonderful game.

Churchill was nicknamed the British Bulldog. Although perhaps my physical characteristics do (hopefully) not resemble his Bulldog-like appearance, I do like the Bulldog-reference when it comes to maneuvering diplomatically and trying to achieve your goal.

Furthermore, because I am Belgian - of which I think there are less than Dutchies btw, but I'd be happy to meet you all -, the nickname 'The Belgian Bulldog' was born.

It is a nickname I only started using in Diplomacy, but it has spread to when I play other games as well.

Mine was just a fun little nickname all the people in my town took to calling me since I was around five years old around the time my tounge got stuck to an icy fence post I decided to try to taste.

It caught on and now most wouldn’t even know who you were talking about if you asked for me by name.

Mine was from a self-deprecating T-shirt with the slogan “Yes, I’m one of those Crazy Episcopalians.” Episcopalian is a mouthful for most even when it isn’t accompanied by the additional adjective, so Crazy Anglican had a nicer flow than Crazy Episcopalian. Thus the username, I have since joined the Methodist Church and briefly considered Mad Methodist, but it never really appealed enough to worry about.

All the T-shirts I wear are self-deprecating
