[email protected]. Is this a valid email or is someone phishing me?

Yes, that's the official mod email. It's on the
help page (gmail and googlemail are interchangeable in gmail accounts).

Note: If the mods ask for your password, your home address, or your chase account number, you should still treat that as a phishing request.
