The diplomacy adjudicator is buggy! It declared a win to Germany in this game even though Spain can retreat to Portugal.

I withdraw from further play in this FvA and GvI tournaments. I will play on in the World cup (since that is a team tournament)

Yes... Unfortunately, there is a bug in which the adjudicator assigns centres each player before the retreats phase, allowing a player to reach the winning threshold even if another player has a retreat which could have taken them back down below it. It's the only bug in the adjudicator, and unfortunately is quite a complex one to fix, which is why it has never been done.

vDip has fixed it as far as I know. Why don't you just cooy that fix?

This should probably be the highest priority to fix tbh.

Yes, this was fixed 2-3 months ago on vDiplomacy. It is a key part of the rules and it was good to see there.

I just spent half an hour on Oli's github looking for a commit that fixed this and am not seeing anything. If someone can point me in the direction of a fix we'll consider it. But otherwise, Kestas has been aware of this bug for years and due to the extremely rare impact of it compared to the massive complexity of fixing it, and the dangers of messing with the adjudicator, it has not been addressed. It's above my skill level for sure.
