Ezio's handling the tournaments now, so there shouldn't be any issue on that end.

The diplomacy adjudicator is buggy! It declared a win to Germany in this game even though Spain can retreat to Portugal.

I withdraw from further play in this FvA and GvI tournaments. I will play on in the World cup (since that is a team tournament)

Yes... Unfortunately, there is a bug in which the adjudicator assigns centres each player before the retreats phase, allowing a player to reach the winning threshold even if another player has a retreat which could have taken them back down below it. It's the only bug in the adjudicator, and unfortunately is quite a complex one to fix, which is why it has never been done.

This should probably be the highest priority to fix tbh.

Yes, this was fixed 2-3 months ago on vDiplomacy. It is a key part of the rules and it was good to see there.

I just spent half an hour on Oli's github looking for a commit that fixed this and am not seeing anything. If someone can point me in the direction of a fix we'll consider it. But otherwise, Kestas has been aware of this bug for years and due to the extremely rare impact of it compared to the massive complexity of fixing it, and the dangers of messing with the adjudicator, it has not been addressed. It's above my skill level for sure.

Ah yes, having the date is very important. Oli has over 1,600 commits to his github, so knowing the date let me find it.

Looks like it was at least partially changed by https://github.com/Sleepcap/vDiplomacy/ ... b249d507fd

I'll review it, but the testing will prevent it from being done quickly.

Soooo... I think svkrls and bozotheclown are about to win their match ups in the FvA tournament. Are there any other active games in FvA at the moment? Or did it kinda stop?

Ok - I always find it more fun if there's some trash talk around competitions like these. So, I'm just gonna start commenting on this tournament. I realize it'll be something of a soliloquy, but what the heck.

Current highlights:

GvI: jwoelmer2 - SpaceDip, Game 3, close to its crescendo! It is looking good for Germany.
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=221669

FvA: Garagenpunk - Burningsteel, Game 3, is about to start, losers round 1.
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=222515

GvI: badivan1 - Foxacastle, Game 2, badivan1 is trying to set up a Game 3 in the winners round 3.
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=219286

GvI: rdrivera2005 - genghiz, Winners round 4, games just started.
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=222351
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=222352

Several more games for Winners round 4 are on their way!

Hello.

Hellenic Riot seems to have left the site ? If correct, that's a very bad news... I have PM to him to inform him...

But what do we do for his participation in the Showdown ? He is expected to play against svkris

Hellenic Riot is around, barely, and will play, just needs a bit of prompting, I’m giving that a go...
