Oh I figure I should make a post here to avoid possible confusion.
I'm helping Captainmeme out running the tournament. If I send you a pm about setting up games treat it as an official PM from meme about your match in the tournament.

I tentatively think we've gotten all the pm's out for the tournaments. Please wait about 48 hours and if you haven't been contacted by me/meme/or your opponent contact me.

A question for GvI:
How can Winner's Bracket Round 2 have 33 sets while WBR1 had only 17?
Are people getting a free ride into R2?
Is this a never ending tournament?

We wanted the tournament to get to a power of 2 number of matches as quickly as possible (I think you should check your math, by my count there are 32 in winners bracket r2, but I've been wrong before). To do that we needed to eliminate the correct number of players in the first round to make it 32, which is why there were an unusual number of games in round 1.

I believe it was simply the lowest seeded players had to play in r1 to make it into r2, but there might have been some other sorting I wasn't aware of.

I'll get around to updating all the brackets by tonight if meme doesn't get to it first.

Hello,

From what I read here and there GvI sounds controversial in the sense that most players think G is "overpowered" against I.

I don't fully agree but whatever it seems to be a tendancy. And with the rules of this tournament, that means that for "equivalent" players, the one getting G after a draw would be unfairly advantaged ?

Would it make sense to change the rule (eg after the Quarter final ?) and deciding that in case of 1-1, the player who will be declared as winner is the one who totalises the more centers in combining both games ?

No rule changes will occur in the middle of the tournament.

Curiously, France wins each game.

Question: Why are all games Unranked when tournaments if anything should be more heavily weighted for rankings than normal ones? I don't get it.

All 1v1 games on this site are unranked.

Still, they do count towards the 1v1 Elo, but with the same weight as all 1v1 games.

Unranked means when the game is over you get your points back no matter what.
