I am currently playing 2nd GvI semifinal against MadMarx. I'd like to finish both these games (and the potential tiebreak) first before facing xorxes...

That's an understandable request, but I'm afraid I can't honour it. I can't delay this tournament because you can no longer enter orders once every 24 hours. We're losing precious Spring time here.

Yeah ! That would be a real championship if the games could be played with 5 minutes deadline.

A good start should be to require players ready up !

It is already in the rules that the TD is allowed to post in Global chat to nudge people into hurrying up, if one game is falling far behind the others that round

If we had them be 5-minute deadlines, it seems like we could conceivably create a reasonably enjoyable Twitch presentation. With a couple of commentators the gaps could be filled. Might be fun.

Are there any metrics available to mods or developers that show how many people currently have these games on spectate?

It is possible but it has to be pulled from the database. ATC did it once to help me write an article about Diplomacy's longest game.

So... I'd vote for starting the two semi-finals at the same time.
