If you find that both you and your opponent have created games, it should go without saying that you should pick one set to play and let the other die.

Lol. I love how he offers you cake to get this working, and then you just tell us all to do it ourselves. Great effort there Claesar haha.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Gunboating is unnecessary, and wayyyyy less than 50% of games will need a switch. Practically none. I'll make it easier for my group - I'm not making games, so you make them and invite me. I got enough on my plate.

Statistically, 50% of the match-ups will need one game to be switched. Assuming country selection is completely random. That's only 25% of the games, if you're gonna be pedantic.

I've set up over a dozen 1v1 matches for the Showdown and have yet to need to switch someone.

My bad, I should have said "probabilistically."

Here is the message that I send to all 3 other members of my group

-----------------
Hello guys,

We have discussed on the forum to launch the tournament by ourselves in each group.

Here are the principles to follow :
- I create 6 games with each of you.
- brkyzgn creates 4 games with swordsman3003 and glo2018
- swordsman creates 2 games with glo2018

The names of the games are in my case :
S2018 CL - Group G - CptMike vs yyy - Game 1
S2018 CL - Group G - yyy vs CptMike - Game 2

yyy is to be replaced by the adversary name.

24 h per phase - Don't forget to add a password. When games are created, send a PM to your adversary to inform him.

If we are attributed the same country in Game 2, we can ask a moderator to switch countries or just 'cancel' Game 2 and the creator will create a new one.

When a pair of good games is created, send PM with the links to our group members so that we can follow.

When games are finished we can post the results on the main forum to inform the tournament director (TD) of these.

Is everybody ready to start ?

-CptMike

This, friends, is called the gambler's fallacy.

This, friends, is called math.

Every iteration of this tournament has required you all to do it yourselves. I planned to save you all the trouble, but then my internet died, so you're back to what you normally do. Claesar can also gunboat the games himself if he wants, but that's his call.

No, it's called an empirical analysis, which suggests the underlying assumptions present in the math are incorrect. If the underlying assumptions are correct, then the odds are infintely small that I won't have to switch countries for the entirely of the 1v1 Showdown. And I bet that I won't have to. Simple statistics.

:points: I already had to switch 1. I don't know how many people created their games. Feels like 100% to me :-D

@goldfinger: Hence, country selection is not random. Q.E.D., baby!

Sure. You should have been contacted by MadMarx, who will create 6 games and you have to create 4 games and contact svkris and Favio.

By the way, you are in the group of death...

I’m out of town through Monday, will create when I get back, though if anyone in my group wants to create any of the games that would be appreciated, thanks!
