The tournament is currently ongoing; you can only join through the tournament page before it starts. If you send goldfinger0303 a PM he might put you on the substitute list but you'll probably be better off waiting for another one, since this one is in the last round now :)

Is it just me or has communication been completely anemic in this tournament? People hardly talking, taking days to respond, short messages, it's just been degrading as the games go on.
In my opinion, it's been pretty bad. There's games where one or two powers are content to send out a single sentence with no details or anything. It skews the nature of the game as it affects planning, moving forward, and everything in between. Perhaps this will change with 6 and 7 being concurrent.

I will say that it's been a good experience playing all 7 powers and against a wide variety of people. I feel like I've pulled out some pretty decent ideas and strategies to improve my game play down the road in regular games.

Talk, talk, talk, and don't dismiss so readily those that do want to discuss and talk a lot.

Seems to have worked out well for you. Congrats on the solo.

Thank you! It was well fought by everyone. Almost couldn't pull it out!

But it was really only 1 nation I spoke with for the last...10 years of the game. Very little press. Perhaps the length of the tournament was wearing on people? It's hard to keep that competitive, strategic focus up for months at a time.

I still say Fall 1913, eliminate Austria and you could've been stopped.

You're not wrong. Made a lot of mistakes on my way there. But it worked out in the end!

I believe we're waiting on a few more for the final rounds. Please message me if you have a reason for not joining yet. I will send out a final reminder tonight. There are a few subs in the wings now, so I will be a bit more aggressive in replacing people for this or NMRs than I have in the past few months.

Congrats Yigg on the solo... but what the hell was happening in that game?

Wow... That's one painfully depressing game. I'd rather cancel that than solo and have it on my record.

I've never seen such a pitiful bunch of accountants. At least France had the decency to be embarrassed by the nonsense. Can't blame Yigg for sticking the knife in and putting the game out of its misery, but you'll never wash the stink off of the blade.

I’m defence if my profession I’d point out that France is an accountant and is the one not interested in fixing the numbers (unless in real life....)

I think it is a sign the scoring for this tournament is pretty silly. There should be value for a draw or else you promote nonsense like this. 0.1 or 0.2 points for a draw makes sense.

I think the scoring system isn't the problem as it was this way for many years, but the level of players. It was named Masters for a reason. Now it should be renamed.
A player that can't see how a bizarre play like this hurt other players chance and the overall tournament integrity can't be considered a Master but a pathetic excuse of a player.

@Rdrivera: I would tend to agree. A tournament with a title like "Masters" should actually have some entry requirements. In some of the games I've played so far, there were some participants who appeared to have a very limited grasp of the basic rules, and in one example, players who had no interest in engaging in press and apparently kept forgetting the game was taking place. "Masters".... ehhh.

Did any of the old "masters" have that strict of a entry requirement? I don't remember the last one being exceptionally strong. When you let this many people in, the experience is varied.
