Re: Is it real life or Diplomacy?

Back at 1901 all of the eastern Mediterranean coasts was Turkish, so there was no big deal. Today, these same coasts belong to six countries, seven if we count the Palestinian region and eight counting Cyprus, which makes it quite a tension point while a part of Turkey's "research" was inside the G...

Re: Armenia, nil points

Maybe you are right. Do you think that Armenia will be backed? You claim that it's because US is busy with it's own problems but I kind of disagree. Even if the elections change the head of the government, countries are led by systems that aren't chosen by elections. The state of US would defend it'...

Re: Armenia, nil points

Land belongs to the people living on it. So I wish Azerbaijan left the Armenians' lands. I support Armenia's case (strange thing, I saw nobody else in Turkey, yet it's not a national sport as Octavious said) to take its lands back but I don't know why Armenia did such a thing. Azerbaijan invaded som...

Re: UN Security Council and a probable reform

Security Council is the highest acting part of UN and all regions must be equally represented even if they cannot intervene an international incident.

Re: UN Security Council and a probable reform

I agree that extra veto powers would be a disaster for getting anything done. The divided veto idea is a good one, but I don't see how such an idea could be implemented. I assume that the veto countries would stop such a change from ever taking place. If countries start not to respect this weak UN'...

UN Security Council and a probable reform

First I watched this video and decided to ask several questions. I remember discussing that before so maybe there is an older thread so sorry if this was already discussed. First, the 7 purposes of UN start with the sovereign equality of all members. This really means that all the organisation of UN...

I think the man I and many others admire and respect, the founder of modern Turkey, who fought to establish a democratic, secular nation state would be disgusted with the way Erdogan is taking Turkey, the rise of extremist conservative Islamic influence on the Turkish government is to be deplored. ...
