Re: Screwed up orders

There was a discussion on a channel on Nexus about ordering support to Switzerland. I might misremember but, basically, one user (i.e., their gunboat champ) had first played the game on some site where it was possible to move to Switzerland. And, ordering a move to Switzerland had become the gunboat...

Re: Two-player WWI-powers variant?

If you create a Gunboat game on this site (i.e., "Game messaging" is set to None), then you can select "Fill empty spots with bots." Make the game private, and have only you and your son join. You'll get one power each, and the other powers will be played by the AI.

Spoilers would be great. I'd really like it if we got spoilers.

Re: France vs Austria Bot Challenge

DATC is not the rules. On Conspiracy, that move order would fail.

(Though, by the official rules, the move should succeed.)

Re: webDiplomacy's interpretation of the victory rules

In the first two examples, the problem is that the site differentiates between "Survived" and "Eliminated," but the official rulebook does not. It would be better (now that PPSC is gone) if we'd relabel both to "Lost." It is odd that the official rules has a winning condition which is based on suppl...

I prefer simplicity. Either teccles voting system, or rock-paper-scissors.

Re: New to the Site - Looking to set up a private Game

On a slightly different topic, is there a way to set up a game with 24 hour turns, but exclude weekends? Meaning, we skip the weekends, then continue on a 24 hours cycle on Monday. Probably not, but I got asked and wanted to clarify. As was already said, you can set up 3-day turns and press "ready"...

Re: Announcing the 2021 WebDip World Cup!

It was pretty close that Sons of Vlad and we would have tied at 355.5 for best fourth place. Not sure what Goldie would have done... Or what's gonna happen if we tie Sons of Vlad for the tournament win in the finals.

Re: Communicating with draw & cancel button in gunboat

There's a quite clear distinction between a public discussion that anyone can partake in, and a private agreement between a few players. But keep building straw mans, if that makes you happy. Or you could just go start a few gunboat games with hidden draw votes.

Re: Results if no moves are submitted

I believe the issue is still open, and that the actual implementation does not follow the rule you quoted. https://github.com/kestasjk/webDiplomacy/issues/188
But again, I might be wrong.

But, yeah, fleet before armies is probably not in place then.

Re: Results if no moves are submitted

I think that the rule implemented on webDip is: Furthest from home Fleet before army Alphabetical Where "Furthest from home" is counted in number of moves to a home supply center where a convoy is counted as one move . I might be wrong, though. The official rules are somewhat ambiguous (see the disc...

Re: Communicating with draw & cancel button in gunboat

So many questions. Conflicting messages here. You're telling us there is no rule against it, but we shouldn't do it because it's not allowed? It's also a rule that's impossible to enforce. Since voting for draw cannot be against site rules, the only thing that could be against site rules is the inte...
