Re: Leaving this site for good.

Didn't read the date on HR's post jmo. Should I have not raised my concerns? Is it OK for me to call in the Forum with more Decorum all persons of a race that has a dishonest and repressive totalitarian Government evil then? Or would it be better if we were ALL careful with how we express noble sen...

Re: Leaving this site for good.

Steady on HR,. "evil Chinese" Imho that's a poorly defined & sweeping condemnation of over a billion people perhaps? Go ahead and call out the totalitarian Government led by just one of many unique features of Chinese Communist party "democracy" President for Life Ji Xinpeng for being dishonest an...

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament

Could always do negative points for a game that drew without a stalemate lined up.

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament

@Valis, but if the things you mention led to a win, would it still be something to criticize? The goal of this tournament as I understand it is to solo. So if people find weird strategies to do so, why criticize? It's just not a mindset I share so curious to see the counter.

You really need help. If you're still going on about that all this time later you have some type of problem.

But it does seem to me that once a player has checked with a tournament director on a strategy and it has been approved, the player really should not be criticized for their play.

@rdrivera2005, if you disagree with the tournament director's decision to approve a strategy you are always welcome to appeal their choice to the admin team at webdipmod@gmail.com. Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament

To back up goldie's message, there is 10000000% a pattern of top players being more likely to back out of a tournament. No idea why, but it does make keeping a tournament high GR only very difficult once the replacements begin to be needed. I have seen this uniformly across tournaments of all time d...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

Fair enough, but what about the country they are assigned? Do the AIs have different "personalities?" For giggles, I played as Austria about ten times yesterday. Skynet was Italy every time. 9/10 times, he either moved Venice to Trieste in S01, Venice to Tyrolia with Rome to Venice in S01 or convoy...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

Again, you're not really understanding my point. I am not asking for the AIs to play worse. I'm asking for the AIs to PLAY BETTER. From my last, playing as Austria is not my concern; it's a general example. I'm asking you to provide feedback to the developers, not "fix" anything. There are a few sh...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

No offense, but I've supported them before to no avail. Try playing the AIs as Austria. Yeah I did, http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=287589#gamePanel And you can honestly say that when you play as Austria, that's a typical outcome? Play as Austria 100 times and post the results of each time...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

Another funny example of the human player, me as Turkey, facing a rather improbable AI alliance. They definitely know who the human is and gang up on him/her. Some of those coordinated attacks on me holding Rumania, two times, by a multi-national alliance, different alliances each time, really indi...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

Here's a funny example of Italy helping Austria destroy me (Turkey), which would in fact actually hurt Italy's chances in a real game. He essentially guarantees the Austrian solo. It's not a realistic game from Italy's POV. http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=302156&msgCountryID=6&rand=49028 A...

Hey all, not really comfortable with advertising for a random tournament that asks for our users email and city to sign up for. Please email webdipmod@gmail.com to discuss this more.

Re: Forum Public Press Game Thread

All this EC DMZ talk has me thinking England is just blowing smoke and is going to screw me over and go EC. It's gonna be really hard to trust anything this game I mean, it does serve as a good test though, to eliminate who could be England and who isn't if you get people to explicitly state one wa...

Re: Forum Public Press Game Thread

I don't think breaking anonymity is a good strategy so I will not disclose my country, but I think making clear asks for bounces and supports of different countries that would work out well for me is a reasonable way to go about this and I recommend it for everyone. It's a lot easier to believe then...

Re: Forum Public Press Game Thread

I would like to arrange for a bounce in the English Channel. I would also ask that Russia not move into the Black Sea. And if Italy and Austria could bounce in Tyrolia, that would be fantastic.

Thanks all. And please excuse the rest on my press, it's been a while.
