If your goal is to convince ND to vote Democrat, then there isn't any and there never was. It's as likely as you voting for UKIP. But there are plenty of moderates who will read your comments and use them to form an opinion.
That's what I tell myself anyway :p.

Re: I am a stable genius
Today's news: Trump forgets words to Star Spangled Banner, mumbles and pauses attempting to sing along to national anthem. Unpatriotic and sad! You know, it becomes much harder to criticize the bombardment of non-stories and lies on the internet when you enthusiastically take part yourself. There i...

Re: Congratulations to Chris Grayling following his appointment as Conservative party chairman.
And, quite seriously, adding social care to health is long overdue. It's harder to save money in social care by dumping the costs on the NHS when they're both the same budget. I probably agree with this point. Interesting change of direction, since the policy of the Cameron government was to take r...

What on earth gave you the idea that Hunt was going to be shunted? He's got the safest job in politics. And, quite seriously, adding social care to health is long overdue. It's harder to save money in social care by dumping the costs on the NHS when they're both the same budget.

I'd say that the vast majority of British MPs are competent professionals. None of whom are immune from employing staff who make errors, nor indeed from making errors themselves.

Re: Congratulations to Chris Grayling following his appointment as Conservative party chairman.
Out of curiosity, do you genuinely find this hilarious or our you laughing out of a sense of duty to the left? I think the biggest story here is the stunning revelation that the Tory Twitter account is followed by over 300,000 people! You can get to roughly 50,000 if you count journalists, politicia...
Re: Lies
Octavious - it was my difficulty in understanding events in America that prompted me to create this thread. That, and it being another opportunity to highlight Trump's perceived inadequacies, yes :p. But yeah, I wasn't being critical of you. There's very little harm in ignorance if you're aware of ...

Re: I am a stable genius
Yesterday Trump tweeted this: "I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star, to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius... and a very stable genius at that!" Donald Trump ran for president in 2000. He can't even remember how...
Re: Lies
Well you could as well ask the question why did the UK electorate accept and trust all the lies of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. It seems like that the average mental capacity and educational level of both the US an UK electorates are not very impressive. Peterlund illustrates a very good point. ...
Re: Lies
11 proven examples of President Donald Trump lying to the American public. Why do they put up with this lying charlatan? They were your best examples? That's genuinely quite surprising. I was expecting something far worse in your top ten. Frankly, I dare say that Americans expect their politicians ...

Brad, you are one of the worst players on the site. Top-tier players prefer to play with each other for the same reason that top-tier chess players do. It's more interesting. I disagree. By far the most entertaining games involve people with a mix of abilities and experience. As long as they're wil...

My Gran was a big fan in her younger days, but it went out of fashion in the UK before the Beatles. Much like baseball. Besides which, hockey is more fun and less fussy than ice hockey.

Re: A really controversial question
For questions such as this, simply apply the Vlad test. If Vlad the Impaler asked for a salad and you gave him some weetabix and milk, would you expect to end your days in agony with a spike up your bottom? If the answer is yes, it ain't a salad. Using the Vlad method we discover it is neither soup ...

Re: Cryptocurrency
That's a great question as all investments involve risk and you can lose as well as make profit. I'd say bets tend to have an inbuilt negative edge so that when you place a bet on say blackjack, usually you will lose over time if you placed the same bet multiple times. An investment is when you exp...

Um, surely a family member, spouse, or friend who you believe won't harm you in any way is someone you already trust. That's what trust is, isn't it? Who writes this crap :p

I've always struggled to believe that anyone who genuinely finds a political debate with heated language abhorrent could possibly be any good at diplomacy.

Anyone else here speculating on cryptocurrency? Define speculating? Are you just betting/wagering or buying for investment. If trading for investment, do you have a strategy? Are you investing small portions of your available wealth in each trade or going 'all-in' and have your entire fortune on th...
