How Can One Advertise an Anonymous Game Without Breaching Anonymity?

I’d like to create a game and advertise it here. But I’d like to make the game anonymous, and if I advertise it, people will know I’m one of the players. Is there a workaround to this?

Re: Newb Questions

Here's another Sandbox that I prefer to Backstabbr's: http://gamesbyemail.com/Games/Politics/Judge.

Click "clear board", place your units, set your orders et voila!

Re: When to Solo?

Of course not in this game. As I said, that game is nearly over (just waiting for two dead countries to finalize their defenseless orders); and as I also said, I wouldn't do it in this game. But I take your point about not posting while a game is ongoing. It was just something I wanted to ask the co...

Re: When to Solo?

This is excellent advice. I particularly appreciated the links to articles by Brother Bored.

I have learned I have to learn a lot more about stalemate lines. I understand the concept - I just have trouble seeing them in a real-game context.

When to Solo?

I am about to finish a game with an agreed 3-way draw among France (former enemy-turned draw partner) (13 SC's); Turkey (me) (11); and Russia (longtime ally) (10). As a novice player, I am satisfied with the draw. But my alliance partner Russia has been working so closely with me over the past few g...

Re: Neil Armstrong screwed up

I remember hearing the explanation that there was radio static that covered up the word "a". I'd have to listen to it again to see if that was convincing, especially if its true that Armstrong himself admitted screwing up.

Re: Diplomacy Academy 10: Improve Negotiations

Content was excellent. Issues as a viewer included spotty sound quality, and too quick commentary, that left me (a novice player) left behind. The sound switched regularly from left channel to stereo, with levels changing accordingly. When on left only, it was awfully quiet. When you were analyzing ...

Re: What does the "Lock" icon mean?

I should add its also a no-message game, so the Lock may be associated to that, rather than to the game being anonymous (I don't know).

What does the "Lock" icon mean?

In an anonymous game, instead of the usual check marks, I see a lock icon, and the tooltip says it means "this player has options this turn." What is the purpose for this function? Is there some kind of cheating code built in to when one readies their orders, that could be exploited by unscrupulous ...

Re: Canceling movement/support bug?

Brest didn't move, it supported. Therefore, the only army that moved to Brest was from Picardy (Paris's support failed because Gascony moved there). Therefore Picardy's moved failed and it bounced back home. Therefore English Channel's move to Picardy failed (no support).

Re: I joined a game, and they're all bots

You joined a bot game. See near the top, under the title of the game and the size of the pot.

When you were creating the game, you must have accidentally selected "Play a Game Against Bots."
