Re: Winning as Austria against bots?

I went back through my bot games and I've won twice as Austria. Both times coming on the back of an Italian Lepanto. http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=311896 http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=312530 Interesting. The only time I won was with no Lepanto. By the time I got Consta...

Ser-Tri makes more sense from the Russian perspective. I would've done the same.
Yeah, but they confused me by supporting Alb-Tri on the turn where I didn't attack.

Re: Absurd AI guessing

I'm playing another game as Turkey, this time trying the Juggernaut. For eight straight turns, Russia didn't support me to Trieste and did nothing instead. Then, finally I did an adjustment of my units and Russia decides to support me that turn.

Re: Absurd AI guessing

I think it's pretty interesting that Germany actually supported your move from Naf to MAO in S1912. It's rare but I've seen the bots do some interesting things with orders (support holding units that move, providing move supports for units that hold, etc.) Having a bot flip its orders ever other tu...

Re: Absurd AI guessing

I was playing as Turkey, and everything was going great until I hit a stalemate line with Germany. I still knew I would win, as England was slowly eating away behind German lines, but I expected to win much earlier. For nine straight turns, the AI correctly guessed on a 50/50 whether I would attack...

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?

I thought it was anti German, the continuation sometimes being to attack Munich with Burgundy's support

The 34 Supply Center Challenge.

The premise is simple; play a bot game and capture all 34 supply centers without triggering the game's end beforehand. So basically you have to go from 17 to 34 in one year. The closest I have got is 30. Has anyone achieved this?

What's the secret to Italy? They are one of the countries I still struggle with.

Re: 49 games against bots results

I've played 120 bot games and I am quite surprise that you did not win with Germany or Turkey. I find those two the easiest. Here is my tier list:
Germany
Turkey
France
After these three there is a big dropoff
Italy
England
Russia
Austria

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?

Yeah, I should have used Serbia to support a move to Rumania in Autumn 1902. One thing I noticed about both the other games is that Italy played Lepanto in both, which is the main reason Turkey fell. Yes, Italy doing a Lepanto helps a lot. Nonetheless, in the draw that I posted Italy and Turkey bot...

I finally did it! It took 17 years, but I did it. Germany even held Vienna for two years.

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?

... https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=308460 I actually got 5 scs in the first year, but there was nearly impossible for me to do much except support hold until the floodgates broke. Nearly impossible, but whenever you did get the chance you failed to support the bots. Your strategy would p...

Winning as Austria against bots?

Is this possible? I've tried a number of times, and I have been eliminated almost every time. It's nearly impossible to get Russia or Italy as an ally, and Turkey eventually stabs in almost every game. Take this as an example https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=308460 I actually got 5 scs in t...

Chaotic Game!

https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=272462 This FvA game was probably the most chaotic I have played. Especially near the end, units were going everywhere, and multiple scs were captured by both players each turn. The turning point was Spring 1906, when I(Austria) made a misorder which cost me...

Re: Winning as England----without building fleets!

I knew that an early war with France or with Germany would probably spell destruction because they could build fleets near me, so I tried to just watch while they fought each other. I made a misorder and accidentally moved to the Mid Atlantic Ocean in the middle of the game, a move that was terrible...

Re: Winning as England----without building fleets!

The game would have been a draw if the bots realized that Italy was about to win. Instead, France kept tapping the back of the German armies that were defending the stalemate line
