Can we get a Concede button for bot-only games?

I know when the AI debuted, there was talk of using the data from bot-only games for some other function, and in the interest of collecting that data there wasn't any interest in adding a Concede button. If that's still true then no worries, but if not, I just want to add my 2 cents and say that a C...

Re: Infinity Stones of Manipulation

New Briefing Series - In comic book lore, the infinity stones represent ultimate power. If one person possesses them, then his every desire will be realized with a snap of his fingers. Learning how to weaponize other people’s emotions is a powerful tool that might even seem godlike to some. I'll be...

VA/WV
Also, WV/VA, WV/MD, MD/WV.
AFAIK none of those are correct.
Mercer County, WV has a point right next to its border with VA where this is true. Crappy map illustrating as much inbound:

Re: Any theory as to why the AI behaved this way in this game?

I mean, for a simple theory, what did you disband when Germany took Belgium? My forwardmost fleet, which had a shot on Liverpool, so England would turn around and play defense. Guess that wasn't enough of a goodwill gesture to convince England to fight the country that was actually trying to kill him

Re: Any theory as to why the AI behaved this way in this game?

That makes sense to me. Shame that it didn't distinguish the cases a bit more carefully, but it is what it is. Aside, are there any plans to allow concessions in 3+ player AI-only games, like we have in 1v1s? I faintly recall (perhaps wrongly) that concessions were initially not enabled in those gam...

Any theory as to why the AI behaved this way in this game?

First, sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. I don't know if this rises to the level of feedback and I wouldn't seriously consider this a bug report, but this seems like the best place for it. Second, sorry if this proves to be an ignorant or unintelligent question. I just finished this game: h...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

Now, this is a very limited sample size, but potentially relevant: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MElmHp7c-b3kjaXxNzgjVpDB1NsmnEdIsqP3ZLej0AY/edit?usp=sharing Both series contained players of a *higher* GR than you would usually expect in a random game. I believe Series II had two players ...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

Italy is best off not committing himself in 1901 or Spring 1902 and letting the board play out. Just asking for clarification here. Personally, I think "Italy not committing themselves" means to open lepanto in 01. Is that what you mean? That is, as far as I am concerned, that A/I narrative in gunb...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

I think Lepanto is overrated. :) For whom, A or I? If what people are saying is true (that the A/I alliance is bad for Italy, and he'd be better off attacking Austria)... well, that is *really* bad for Austria who is already in a rough place and cannot survive being attacked by Italy. But perhaps t...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

While ultimately true, geography is important, and Restitution raises a good point. From a geographical standpoint, Turkey needs Russian, Austrian, and Italian centers to have a solo opportunity. They are all reasonable choices as far as an alliance goes, in gunboat or press. All have their benefit...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

How do you convince I or A to work with you, when it is clearly not in their interest to do so? Geography doesn't dictate alliances. Diplomacy does! While ultimately true, geography is important, and Restitution raises a good point. In press you've simply got to find a way to start a row between A/...

Re: Turkey is Overrated

I think it's properly rated as the second best country behind France, but it iscloser to the rest of the field than it is to France. Your perception implies to me that Turkey is the victim of its own success, much in the same way France has been. They look weaker than they are because the metagame i...

Re: Should you ever *not* take Galicia in 1901S?

I strongly disfavor the Hedgehog because I think it hedges in a spot where hedging doesn't actually help you. Austria's problem is not that it is temporarily tactically impaired and just needs to buy time to get set up against Italy. If that were the case, then the Hedgehog would be a much better op...

Re: Top 100* GR Round Robin Series Roundup

with a lot of help from (and much thanks to) Claesar and Magnetic24. Which mod spent almost two hours on flight II making sure that 7 players had each country once in 7 games? That happened to have been one of the first things they did as a mod? Asking for a friend :) Feel free to use those mod pow...

Top 100* GR Round Robin Series Roundup

Friends, Back in June, I organized two round robin gunboat sets with experienced players well-regarded in the Ghost Ratings, with a lot of help from (and much thanks to) Claesar and Magnetic24. As announced in this thread , the series recently finished. Claesar was kind enough to compile results in ...

Re: Diplomacy Games are Like Onions, Layer 2: Tactics

You can now read "Layer 2: Tactics" I guess this thread is now a little bit misnamed, but since I didn't get very many replies here, it seems silly to start another thread just for the second part. In the second part of this series, I offer my opinion that the Tactical Layer is deeper than Politics...

Re: The Federal Reserve Karma Bank of webDiplomacy

As grateful as I am for e.m.c^42's magnanimous charity I must object to the recent policy decoupling the value of the +1 to the price of gold. I fear that this will lead to a debilitating depreciation in the value of the +1 and in the assets of people dependent upon +1s for their earnings. #AuditThe...
