Re: Vids from Parler
It was politically expedient to dump Parler, Google, Apple and Amazon all pulled their (client side apps on the first two's app stores and server side support), none of those companies care about anything except how much money they are likely to make. What I'm reading suggests this is all the video ...

Vids from Parler
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq6cQ--4f90ja7xShfORhnlvnvHaG05zj In case you aren't aware, as various services were withdrawn from Parler, it appears some security vulnerabilities ereopened up, and a huge amount of content was downloaded. From these, we find videos uploaded from DC on the 6th (m...

Re: Can You Pass A US Citizenship Exam?
19 out of 20, because I went with 6 years for how long representstives are elected (that must be senators) instead or 2 years.
Does every rep get elected every 2 years?

Re: US authoritarianism
@CA, I agree that he incited a mob. But I also listened back carefully, and I think he has plausible deniability, good lawyers might get him off. Of course, we have seen that impeachment is a political matter. A Senate trial doesn't have to listen to evidence or all any witnesses... If we see polit...

Re: Libertarian Party Slogans
He goes on to ask why China has become the largest economy in the world: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP) Which apparently I didn't know had happened. But no wonder USAians are worried about China. Can't have govt investment in a mixed economy demonstrate it is actually...

Re: Libertarian Party Slogans
Actually this might fit here: dear libertarians What do you say to this 'America has the highest cost of production in the world, not because it's technologically inefficient, the technology is there, the reason is these extra costs* paid for by labour and the employer' Referring to healthcare, tran...

Re: Libertarian Party Slogans
Libertarians are usually pretty awesome people (at least the ones I have met). I think if we had a government that actually functioned exactly the way they wanted, it would be awful... It's great in theory, but in practice, it would be a disaster taking human nature into account. I hate these 'huma...

Re: USA: A shithole country
I think, in reality, we just had a very upsetting brush with fascism I hope you are right. I fear the violence will continue, entitled white supremacists will continue to incite attacks, and Biden's only option will be to enact new laws (to appear to be doing something, when inciting violence is al...

Re: US authoritarianism
@Jamie, unfortunately, I don't think it is illegal for Trump to call on them to March. His lawyers would certainly claim he is not responsible for what they did when they got there, as Marchibg and protesting is a 1st amendment right. On the other hand, he is the president, and as such legal/illegal...

Re: US authoritarianism
The USA is a failed state. An armed mob, called to Washington by Donald Trump, have stormed into the US Capitol. Shots have been fired. Police are using tear gas inside the Capitol Building to try to supress Trump's militia. Armed Trump supporters are reported to be assaulting the State Parliament ...

Re: US authoritarianism
Still 2 loooong weeks more to go. :( I hope there is some way for others to stop the shithead to press the nuclear war button. You'll never know what his next "strategy" could be. Maybe not, latest word seems to suggest that Pence called in the national guard, which suggests the 25th amendment has ...

I am told that the reluctance of DOD to call out the DC guard is because they would come under the command of POTUS, which would obviously be a problem.

Re: US authoritarianism
Despite Georgia, Trump claims he will "never concede" and calls more thugs to arms. Meanwhile lickspittle Republicans prepare to thrust another spear into the side of an already wounded democracy. But there's always something that can be done – #NilDesperandum Oddly enough conceding is not a requir...

Re: There was massive fraud; Trump won, you're all clueless
That much is evident from just his Twitter feed, no need to reveal him soliciting fraud...
Also if he is completely delusional, I would say it is harmful to him, as it demonstrates he is unfit for office and should be removed by his cabinet.

Wow, Octx given that current discussions are around whether Georgia will file a criminal complaint against Trump for attempting to perpetrate election fraud I'm not sure where your fantasies come from.
