Re: New Menu

Hello! With the new menu, when I click on a game, it has no 'Board' option. I know this is a small convenience, that really doesn't need to be there. But it was nice to easily click to update the page. Are page reloads safe nowadays? I've always been in the habit of clicking links to reload pages, ...

Re: Diplomacy club

If you don't want it getting banned, I might suggest not advertising it as "how to manipulate people 101"... But seriously, there's a really good case to be made about the educational aspects. I first started playing Dip because I had a teacher use it in their course to teach about WW1. Tons more us...

It's rare that jmo has a friendlier response than I do. My response to the Chaqa's question would have been: Why are you still here?
Is this necessary?

Re: webDip Glossary Project

PlayDip actually has a half-decent glossary. It could be useful for a starting point and inspiration.

Re: Development Feedback

My first dream feature would be a dedicated glossary page, complete with plain English definitions, especially for acronyms. Old timers on the site know the meanings but newbies and even folks who have been playing a while or two can get lost in the jargon. That's a good idea. It's one I thought ab...

webDip Glossary Project

As per The Central Scrutinizer's suggestion , I figured we could start work on a glossary project. There's often a lot of jargon and acronyms that come up in gameplay, and it's not always easy to understand what they mean. I know this is something I had wished existed when I was first starting out, ...

Some people might say the new index page looks gaudy, but I think it' a fitting culmination of the webDip beautification project.

Re: Order of provinces in drop down menu

Or even just ordered alphabetically would be nice. I once had a Known World game where I spent a good ten minutes each phase searching through the order dropdowns to find the spaces I actually wanted to move my armies to.

Jmo, you're awesome, but these changes now reveal how bad I truly aim at classic. Can we go back to letting 1v1 stats obfuscate win percentages?

Re: How do can you defeat a Lepanto alliance as a Juggernaut alliance?

In any case, I seem to have found the answer to my question. It seems that there is no way for a Juggernaut to overpower a well-coordinated A/I alliance. I think you're thinking about this from the wrong angle. It is never trivial for any alliance to defeat an opposing, coordinated alliance of equa...

Re: Why Players Prefer Draw-Size Scoring

In response to meme, I don't necessarily agree with all of Walker's views. Yet, I agree with them in part; there are different ways to play the game and that diversity needs to be recognised. Of course, I think we all agree that scoring systems should only incentivise what's written in the rulebook:...
