Wow a 7 way draw
Reading the global chat afterwards tell one something about this game. I suspect that it might make an interesting case study on how not to win a game.

Re: why cant i find any classic diplomacy games

Yeah. I even posted a classic game recently and there was not enough players for it to start. So demand for classic games in low at the moment. I see tournament and chaos the likely culprits.

Re: Next level of gunboat metagame

I am struck by Russia's communication problems. Now we know that certain moves can be interpreted by other players to suggesting alliances.
The question then becomes what moves could be used to suggest an alliance with Italy or other powers?

Re: World War I

There must be easier ways of deciding a way to avoid a civil war. Like giving concessions, so the less radical ones would cave in, and the more radical ones could be stamped out. Also yes, it was a great discussion, I'm about to have this same debate with my friend when we come back from Spring Bre...

Re: World War I

I haven't seen the YouTube thingy .. I'm not a YouTube watcher.i.would suggest that England entered the Great War because of it's treaty obligations & other reasons. (popular domestic suppt , public enthusiasm & a belief in a quick war & victory as an example) By the time England is presented with ...

World War I is the map of the Classic Map. What are your guy's thoughts on it...? About the war of course. Something a little more controversial, in my opinion, England should never have entered the war... Here's the video that changed my mind about the subject, which would articulate the point bet...

Re: World War I

@osric 1) Germany passing through Belgium didn't need to turn into a permanent occupation. 2) Unforeseen consequences...? The majority of the cabinet knew how bad it would end up. 1) Germany moving through Belgium was the breaking of a treaty with England. This stuff starts wars all through history...

Re: World War I

Watching the video now. Two questions:
1) How do get around the problem of Belgium from England?
2) Can you judge the rightness of an action based on unforeseen consequences?

Perhaps a better phase than an "artificial province" would be a "artificial highway". That way you can use more convoys to extend the highway.

Believablity of a MAD doctrine?

Greetings, I am curious as to a general opinions about if you would believe someone stating that they had a MAD doctrine on betrayal? I define a MAD doctrine to one that: 1) Is publicly stated before alliances. 2) Is one that should the Player A be betrayed in an alliance that Player A would then at...
