Re: Reliability Ratings

I don't care about the "fairness" of ratings. I'm for a strict system that rewards reliability and punishes unreliability. Still, it would be nice if the system weighed recent results more heavily than results in the distant past. Not for the benefit of the unreliable players but in the interest of ...

Re: World Cup

It sure seems like the officials are erring on the side of not calling anything. Can't say I blame them. Fail to make a call you should, there is grumbling. Make a call you shouldn't and something comes of it... you are a villain for centuries.

Re: Confessions of a Meta-Gamer

We really could use a specific definition of what "meta-gaming" is. It seems like there is a huge spectrum here. Everything from definitive cheating on one hand to using common sense on the other. It seems like there is a school of thought that says 1) looking at a person's game history, 2) figuring...

Re: The Italian Draw

If I had to play a game with my life on the line... I wouldn't choose Italy.

That said, if you aren't willing to attack France or Austria... I don't know what I could say to help. Seems like you are limiting your options down to... almost nothing?

Re: Confessions of a Meta-Gamer

I, obviously, would follow any rules that the Mods create. I would personally prefer the rules to be as specific as possible so that everyone knows what to expect and there would be easier enforcement by the Mods. That said... when you play non-anon, you can't be shocked that some of this is going o...

Re: Confessions of a Meta-Gamer

I'd do it if I wasn't so lazy.

I also prefer anonymous for just exactly these reasons. I find it more enjoyable to find out who I was playing with after the game.

Re: Trump's Lawyer Office Raided

Attorney client privilege is important. However, if an attorney breaks the law and acts with a "client" they can't simply be permitted to claim "privilege" and it all remains a secret. It seems to me that most people just agree with whichever "side" they identify with. I have no idea what has happen...

I don't need to worry about the 0 that I have listed incorrectly in the Tier 3 second game, correct? It will all be fixed in due course?

Re: Stock Market Falling

"And although i'm not an expert, I presume allowing certain failing businesses to go bankrupt while remaining solvent himself was Trump's way of doing that. It's not elegant, perhaps, but the man is obviously vastly wealthy so who are we to criticise his business acumen?" Says the guy that's probab...

Re: Stock Market Falling

I'm not sure you can call Trump a failed businessman. He has acquired for himself quite an assortment of golden paraphernalia. Not least of which is a golden toilet. Not to mention he managed to get himself elected President.

That all has to count for something.
