Re: circumcision

Troutfan27, let me run through that process.. the God of the Jews creates them perfectly in his image, and then instructs them to indulge in a bit of surgery which alters what was a perfect image of itself (God) to make it a different perfect image of itself (God).. you don't see an inherent illogi...

Re: Fake Endgame Spoilers

They reveal that the Thanos snap from Infinity War didn't actually delete Dr Strange; it only revoked his medical license in the past, so he couldn't remove the shrapnel from Tony's heart, so no one could recruit Edward Norton for the second Incredible Hulk movie. That really brought tears to my eye...

Re: Avengers: Endgame

Captain Marvel will be utterly arrogant and challenge Thanos to personal combat, in much the same way She-Hulk defended earth from Champion after Champion basically mauled Thing to death. The twist is that after about 30 seconds of utterly gorgeous cinematic LAZOR shows from Mar-Vel's hands, Thanos ...

Re: Home Page Updates

Can we know what the colors mean? Does it show up as colorful for individuals only or does anyone who sees the game see the colors? Is it “hot” or “cold” for speed of reply or supposed passion behind the moves, or a measure of enthusiasm? I’d just like to see more on what these colors mean, especial...

Re: Make me an admin

I had a coworker get banned three days into his first game for “repeat multi” and we were not really sure what triggered that. He is talking to mods via email about it, but what triggers that ban? based on the name of the ban, I would assume either his email is already linked to another account (he...

Re: Favourite Statistic about yourself &/or other players

Humble boast, so far my Wins > Defeats, with Draws being the result of 50% of my games. That's something to be proud of, I think; something seems to be working. I also like what Dejan0707 said about finding who the talkative players are, but most of the game I play are anonymous so I don't see that ...

Re: Very unsportsmanlike conduct

Good posts by Sir Thomas ( bravely ran away he did brave, bold Sir Robin) & Yigg imho. They put a similar message to mine but more diplomatically and pointed out some opportunities that arise when another player goes over the top a bit in the ranting caper. Some players play better when they get re...

Re: Very unsportsmanlike conduct

This use of the global chat is a cheap tactic to get particular people to change their approach via public shaming when they can't diplom well enough or are frustrated because their solo attempt just got blocked. It may appear to be abuse, but it's more proper to think of it as a desperation move. Y...

Re: How would you improve the website?

We need a feature to be able to ragequit and abandon games without hurting our reliability rating. That would be a positive feature :P On a more serious note, I'm not sure we need that "open a larger map in a new tab" button between the history buttons... perhaps remove that and make the phase-histo...

Re: The Stirring Case of the Double French

Total stretch here, but if my last idea proves true, do you think the "train" could be a hint in the path a unit follows? So, you're working in a variant where subsequent new units have to follow the same path as the units which originated in that same center, unless they can take a new center from ...

Re: The Stirring Case of the Double French

So you could almost guess at the order of captured centers by the number of them "possessed by each color" at the end of the game, so France starts out with its own, moves to take the "German/Brown" centers in year 1 with the fleet still in a (perhaps North) sea, most likely takes the English/Blue c...

Re: The Stirring Case of the Double French

Being American, I must confess to not having read (m)any of the Sherlock Holmes novels... but the Sultan says that language/words/letters aren't the puzzles that he is known for, but this sort of map puzzle is more the sort he's known for. Is that a clue? I was under the impression that Holmes' myst...

Re: Make sure you bounce in the Black Sea!

If you know/trust your neighbor, neither player taking it can be a decent strategy. If you live in reality, though, both nations want it for good reasons, and area denial is still valuable. As Russia, the move stalls Turkey. If Turkey takes the Sea in the Spring, they can take Rumania or Sev with re...
