Re: Field 'Terr id'

I'm getting the same issue. Is there a fix or will it just clear?

At the moment I can't access a current game either from my dashboard or the My Games tab.

Re: rules for defeated nations

Posts from Exile should be positively encouraged.

Anything that improves the quantity and hopefully quality of in-game communication has to be a good thing (unless it's Gunboat!).

Re: RR and it’s actual effects

Other sites use rankings to denote experience - for us it's DipPoints. Setting up a game just by differentiating RR is naïve- for just the reasons that ssorenn says. So to create the 'quality game' that ssorenn demands means setting both a high points tariff AND a high RR threshold. Of course, RR wi...

Re: Irony: UK hosts conference aimed at encouraging other countries to join EU

As a Remainer/Remoaner, I wouldn't say that we are being ignored. What rankles (for me) is the suggestion, continually pushed by Brexiteers, that they won and we lost. There was a vote - publically announced as non-binding and advisory - that came down (very) narrowly in favour of one view. Of cours...

Diplomacy World #141 is out now!

http://www.diplomacyworld.net/pdf/dw141.pdf Apologies for posting a second time but in the absence of a very obvious place to put this I've covered all angles. Highlights include a decent little strategy article from our own Enriador as well as a larger piece about the Diplomacy Podcast in which Web...

Diplomacy World #141 is out now!

http://www.diplomacyworld.net/pdf/dw141.pdf

Highlights include a decent little strategy article from our own Enriador as well as a larger piece about the Diplomacy Podcast in which WebDip is prominent.

And of course, there's the Demo game in which Durga is playing a blinder.

Enjoy!

Re: Home Game League Scoring

Sorry Purevital, I can't advise you on the scoring system other than that if you are keeping a separate score off-site you can do what you like. All that matters is that is clear, consistently applied and that everyone signs up to it before they start playing. My main query, though, was how is your ...

If you know who is creating the game and it looks like it hasn't got a full house, you can always PM them to join.

If you're having one round per year, perhaps it could have 4 or even 5 games each round rather than having two rounds of three?

Re: World Cup 2018 Signups!

Brexit or no, I'll be up for a UK team. All we need is a captain.

I don't know what's involved in captaincy so am possibly not the best candidate.

Any volunteers?

The 500 points would only be for winning, surely?

Not sure we want to be celebrating mediocrity... 😉

Re: Work sucks and I need to vent.

Does your employer have a "whistleblower" policy? If you have evidence of falsified records then that would be a good way to go. It should be anonymous and could create an opportunity for you to take a step up.

Re: US Government Shutdown

Fundamental flaw in US budgeting system being exploited for political ends.

Whether you agree with the reasons for doing so or not, it's only possible because the system allows it.

If you don't like it, change the system. Good luck with that by the way.

Wouldn't happen in the UK.

Re: Private Messaging Abuse

Irrespective of who it may have been, the best course of action is always to tell a Mod. We are all emotional beings and sometimes this game can bring out the worst in all of us. In my view, though, in-game issues should remain 'on the board'. I do wonder whether some kind of code of conduct might b...

I'm sure there is one - have a look on the Dip-pouch variants database (if it's running).
I know there are quite a few that have Switzerland as a neutral garrisoned SC.

I'll check-in after Brexit.

At the moment we're a 2nd world not-quite-a-sh*thole country.

We got a bump up when Trumpybear cancelled his visit.
