Re: People that set multiple alarm clocks

Well, this last one with the water is working! I did it back in my national duty days to wake up my replacement in a duty station.

Re: People that set multiple alarm clocks

It is not easy for all people to wake up, especially if it is early in the morning. Keeping that in mind you must talk to him and find common ground and a solution.

History teaches us that a revolution or a coup d' etat can change everything, Russia after the Octombrian Revolution or Russia after the death of empress Elisabeth. It is fit this fact to be a part of the diplomacy game.

As a British, you must have played them, eh?

Νever played a computer game of the kind, but the books are a very much loved way to pass time and inspiring too. I had played the Long Wolf series and some of the Fighting Fantasy.

Re: Game for a newbie

Οver one phase is considered slow, and there are players who will avoid it. One day is not a short time amount for a phase you can handle. 1v1 games are good to learn moves and strategy, there are no negotiations in these to get practice. As far as I know, there is no time limit and the future of a ...

You can also put on one game of your own, and wait for players to gather.
If you wish to play some 1v1 to get used to moves and rules I am willing to play and we can discuss moves as we go to get you familiarised.

Re: Auto-disbanding retreating units

This will speed the game only in the case when one player has a retreat to do and it is auto disband. In all other cases, you still have to wait for the others who have retreating options while to install this function may be quite difficult from the programming aspect and not worth the effort.

Re: Share your talents! (We all deserve a little bit of publicity)

As you said, to have something that excites you and you are willing to devote time and effort to it: is what makes us human. Many people have lost this aspect of life, they are great at their work but beyond that, there is nothing that interests them or that they want to do.

Re: Share your talents! (We all deserve a little bit of publicity)

Writing is my thing. I started as a teenager and never stopped since then. While fantasy and action are the most beloved genres I had tried my pen in almost everything save of comedy which I find very difficult to write and be funny and entertaining.

Re: Need advice

Try to estimate the gravity of a family in your life not only with in the form your life has now but also with the shape it will take in the future. As already mentioned, the urge to work and achieve things professionally calms down with the passing of years, and at some point, you'll retire. What w...

Re: Excused Missed Turns is inefficient ?

An excused miss in a live game is a matter of minutes so it isn't so much of a big thing; when a game has already a day-long phase it starts to get annoying. Yet it is a good feature as accidents can happen and a player can lose a turn, it is a shame to lose the game for it.

Re: World war simulator

To simulate WWI the classic version is a good choice. There is even a scenario for this (played with six players and Italy a neutral to balance the game; historically Italy was with England and France wanting to get rid of Austrian yoke). For simulating WWII I would recommend modern Europe version, ...
