In this game, Italy attacked me (Austria) but I managed to get a Draw. http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=251697

By supporting Russia into Bulgaria, I gained a Russian ally which was my salvation. As Jmo suggested in his ealier post.
Thanks, I’m going to try that next time.

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

It's there ANY possible way to even survive as Austria? Seems like the AI defaults to all three neighbors to immediately attack. I’ve played many bot games and in my experience, Italy attacks Austria in 01 4 times out of 5. If that happens, I haven’t found a viable way to survive. However, if Italy...

Re: How does this resolve?

To bartogian's last point - if A Con is supported to hold, by either or both A Bul or F Bla, the Italian move does not succeed, but F Smy is still dislodged by the Russian attack. Note that support by A Bul can be cut, but not that of F Bla.

Re: How do you convoy over long distances.

http://www.webdiplomacy.net/intro.php#Moves Basically, you can convoy one army between two coastal areas with one fleet, but you can also use a string of fleets, there is no maximum, as long as all fleets are adjacent and form a continuous string between the area of origin and destination. All fleet...

Re: Foot stuff

Out of curiosity, what range of imperial measurements are used in the US? Is it just inches, feet, yards, and miles? Do you have links and rods and chains and furlongs too? I've never gotten used to the American habit of measuring weight in pounds instead of stones and pounds like sensible people, ...

Re: Foot stuff

Off topics on this off topic - US congress made the metric system preferred in 1975 (initiated by President Ford), but didn’t make it mandatory. So I guess the power of congress back then was a low as it is today.

Re: disrupt a convoy

Correct. And a convoying fleet acts like its holding, so it can be supported by one or more neighboring fleets.

In the two 1:1 variants, there already is a Concede button, but not in the Classic variant. Not sure why this difference.

I'm not exactly sure who I'm supposed to hound to get these games started. Who should I hound?
Anyone but me. The likelihood of that happening randomly (assuming my play style is unidentifiable) should be something like (5/6)^7=1.4%. I totally made that up.

I've been assigned each country once. If truly random, the probability of that happening is 7!/7^7 = 5040/823543 = 0.61%.
Looks awfully similar to the probability of me winning this round robin.

Hi Carl,

I'd be up for a place in Flight B, sounds like fun! With seven games simultaneously, 36h phases should work out fine. Thanks for the initiative.

Dogs, foxes, raccoons, wolves, but also birds (owls, hawks, herons) and even snapping turtles. To your point, most target the young cygnets and leave the adults alone. And humans of course (for feathers and meat)...

Thanks for the update, Gokdfinger, lots of work no doubt. Just an updat that I think I’m out of both showdowns. My loss to RJ in FvA is logged and breaca just beat me 2-1 in the GvI losers bracket (gm3 tiebreak).

If so, the first (?) results in group F: Rdrivera2005 (A) beats Dipperjay (F) 3-0 http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=225220 Rdrivera2005 (F) and Dipperjay (A) draw 1-1 http://www.webdiplomacy.net/...
