Re: Proposed change

I have no doubt that you are doing things to attract more people here. Being insulting is not among them, however, and is counterproductive. Look. You are clearly a leading personality on this site, and in the process of organizing a tournament that could well bring more people here. Your attitude, ...

Re: Proposed change

If people are more confused by "hidden" draw votes, they're too stupid to be playing this game. Look, I don't much care what a game's default setting is. It's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. But, Durga, I think you're out of line with this comment. If the goal is to attract more playe...

Re: World Cup 2018 Signups!

Yeah, I really wish I would have been able to finish the Public Press game. I'm glad the Public Press game got a lot of attention though, as it's a variant I'm rather fond of. Overall, this tournament has been the highlight of my Diplomacy career thus far, and I'm glad I was a part of it. Congrats t...

I would also like to know more about this "touch diplomacy." And how much do you tip for it?

Re: Advice

Hi Scarabus,

I'm Yigg, and though I'm far from an expert on all things, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions, or walk you through whatever needs walking. I'll send you a direct message and we can talk there.

And welcome to webDip! :)

@yigg why non-anon?
I suppose it wouldn't much matter. But if two people know who each other are, we all might as well? But it's not a big deal. I'm just happy to play in a bonkers-style game like this.

Re: unorthodax alliances

I’m cold-onger’s cousin irl. Is it ok if I play? I'm certain that this will be a password protected invitee game. Which means that it would not violate the rules against the meta of playing with people you know IRL. I'm totally fine with this, by the way. Though I don't speak for the other invitee'...

Re: On Coins

Hey friend! Don't be sorry for writing about it here. Not at all. These sorts of questions are important, and getting the right answers is equally so. I don't want to put words in TrPrado's mouth, but I believe what he's suggesting is that the webdipmod@gmail.com email address is a quicker and more ...

Re: 2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

I'm not convinced that Turkey's elimination was that necessary at the time. The other questionable decision was the Germany destroy in Berlin and keeping Finland at end of 1906. Suppose it could have worked at well had that German North Sea fleet been kept but ultimately it was tremendously problem...

Re: 2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

Yigg, Thanks very much for beginning this discussion. And let me say at the outset that it was an absolute pleasure to play with you. I completely agree that this was a top quality game and a joy to play. I felt that way right up until the moment you left it. Clever press, challenging and surprisin...

Re: 2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

Well played, Yigg. I hope to get a chance to add to the substantive discussion soon and before the game is completely stale. Thanks, man! I thought your game was well played also! Your press was always awesome! :) The German blitz for survival seemed early to me, I would really like to think that t...

Re: 2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

That means a lot to me, VI. Thank you! I totally agree with your downfall assessment. Italy and Russia's over-committing to taking Turkish centers (and I think especially Russia) was a contributing factor. By not having any northern fleets, it made the loss of St.P an eventuality and a critical stop...

Re: Anonymous Changes and Online Indicators

Well, there's a lot to chew on here. First, I would like to express my disappointment in that this anon-breaking conversation is drawing more interest than having an EoG discussion. It was a blast of a game full of top notch press, moves that defied conventional logic, and strategies that definitely...

Re: 2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

@Dejan0707 I had thought of that, and honestly I've second guessed the build with that very alternative. I didn't want to signal that intention so soon, and the flexibility would have been just as good. But in the end, I decided to go with being direct. I believe it cost me the rallying ability I mi...

2018 WC Public Press EoG Discussion

Hello. My name is Yigg , and I was what has been referred to as "Old France" in the 2018 WC Public Press Championship game. I was subbed out for jmo due to some pretty heavy life stuff. I had wanted to be a part of the End of Game discussion, so I was given permission by the TD to create this Forum ...
