Re: European Election Night(s)!
It's pretty disingenuous to say there are simple solutions to the Irish problem Oct. There's no solution that doesn't piss of one side of the sectarian divide and allows the UK to completely withdraw from the EU.

Re: Multiculturalism Ruins Nations
Complete side point here but the weirdness of the discussion on having children being bad/universities being leftist propaganda outlets on page 3 seems to have passed completely uncommented on. Flump lays out a massively oversimplified version of an argument they don't agree with. The conversation t...
Re: Armistice
I never liked "For the Fallen" as a remembrance piece. It always struck me as putting death on some sort if pedestal and in so doing kinda falls foul of the Owen verse: You would not tell with such high zest, To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old lie: Dulce et decorum est, Pro patria ...

I'm far from an expert in And. Med. But my standard Greece start sounds similar to yours. Rather than contest with Rome I make peace and stop out Persia. I also try to dominate the Eastern Med to ensure both Egypt and Rome are at a naval disadvantage.

Re: Theory: John Kelly wrote the NYT Op-Ed
A friend of mine pointed out that Pence's response was that the Op-ed didn't come from the office of the VP. Which doesn't mean it didn't come from him just that he and his staff didn't produce it in any official capacity.

Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I have literally never played on PC. I only use my phone and I've never had an issue with saving orders. The only issues I've found are the known one with colourblind mode, which is fine so long as I only play Anc. Med. and classic and the fact that if you accidentally set an order to itself (I.e. i...

Re: Nike and Kaepernick
OK, let's be clear what I am arguing. I am NOT arguing against discussions which are directly relevant to the workplace. Given that this is how you defined what you are arguing you can hardly call my assumption that this statement implied you were against political discussion that did not directly ...

Re: Nike and Kaepernick
Saying that only political discussion pertaining to the workplace is allowed will eventually lead to the making of arbitrary rulings on what exactly that phrase means that will be made and enforced by management to suit their own needs. Health and safety, minimum wage, immigration, taxation, police ...

Re: USA no longer supports international law
Looking over the ICC's areas of investigation it seems to almost exclusively investigate African states. The only non-African area I can see is Georgia.

If it's an illegitimate court then those convicted by it must be freed and compensation paid to the families of those that were executed by the court! Free Jeslić, Krstić, and Martić!

Re: Nike and Kaepernick
At its most basics politics is the system through which we distribute resources across society. Work is how the individual gains access to those resources.Work therefore is an innately political activity as it is a direct product of the political system. An apolitical workplace is one in which colle...

Re: Nike and Kaepernick
Although I can see how it may help with workplace cohesion to have a non-political work environment I think it is an absolutely toxic expectation. Work and employment are innately political and it is vital workers be able to discuss and engage with politics in the workplace or else they will be left...

Why are people so upset about about guy kneeling during the national anthem? Is that a problem in the US? Thought you guys were all about freedom of speech and expression.

Yeah it always surprised me that teachers and lecturers are called professors in the US, the idea is just so Alien to me.
