It has always been the case that if you went into Civil Disorder but you go to the page of the game you were playing before anyone takes over, you are back in the game.

It has to move from Red Sea to Egypt and then to Mediterranean Sea on the following turn, similar to how you have to move through Constantinople first if you want to move between Black Sea and Aegean Sea.

The word you are looking for is "amphibious (terrain)".

In your specific example, cdngooner, there is no risk involved. If you try to go for a solo, the others will probably try to pressure you into accepting a draw, not to defeat you.

It sounds like it would be a good idea for your group to play one of the variants over on vDiplomacy, for instance Anarchy in the UK.

When a player fails to enter orders, the game gets extended and the player who missed an order will lose 1 excused missed turn. I could imagine, for example, for Turkey to build 3 A and move North against Russia provided alliance with Austria, while Austria goes against Italy. Why not? Paradoxically, giving players more options for their starting units can make the game more predictable. To add to my previous post: I was wrong to assume midway that I/A would always be successful in their effort to defeat T.
