We could add links, but the game search feature is frankly not great so I doubt we'll add that one until (if) it can be improved functionally.
Damn, lost the reply I was working on. I wish we had the warning about losing your post when you leave the page. Let me try to reconstruct:

Limited functionality? I mean, the old games search feature is old-fashioned, but it works very well at finding games with specific combinations of settings and has excellent sorting capabilities. I especially like the "Time until next process" sort option. Actually, is there any overlap between the two features at all? The old games search feature lets you find the exact type of game you would like to find, but doesn't have a search query for game names. The new games feature doesn't even list games at all unless you give it part of the name of a game, but gave us that capability to search by name.

Given how useful the old search games feature is, I would like to see it easily accesible under our new Search tab alongside the new search games feature. That way users can find it and make use of it.
Yeah, I intentionally didn't overlap functionality so I plan on adding the game search as a menu item and swapping search games to advanced search and then throwing the Hall of Fame into search just to make Oli's life on vDip a little easier.

Just a fun note on the other comment about join and spectate, the overall space taken per game is now less then it was before due to other css being removed. So while we can look at reducing it, it isn't worse then before and the options were still on 2 lines before.
bump

Is there any way we could change the Search tab to add the old games search option?

For example:
Find User
Search Games
Advanced Search

I have two suggestions:
1) Search, Games, etc, used to be links, which meant you could right-click/open in new tab. Now, they aren't, so you can't. "click/move down list/right-click/open in new tab" is vastly more time-consuming. Can those go back to being links?
The reason we turned our header into a dropdown menu is to increase accessibility to a wider variety of tools without taking up more space. I could enable the header to open on a hover as well as clicks if that is something people are interested in, but mobile and tablet users need those dropdowns to be enabled by a click. Thus, the dropdowns themselves can't be standalone links and that is why I set it up that way.

2) In game listings, "Join" and "Spectate Game" are now big buttons on separate lines. The second one being on a line of its own wastes a *lot* of space. Could you put "Join" and "Spectate Game" next to each other? It would get rid of about 20% of the scrolling down game listings.
I can look into this in the next week or so.

If you find something that doesn't work or does not work as it should, please tell us.
Except actually don't, I'll probably cry.

Over an hour of a few dozen attempts later and it now works on the forum too.

We're working on adding the menu with the same interaction as on the home page on the forum. It may be weird/not work for a little bit while we work on it.

I don't want to criticize cruelly but it look a bit out of this site. It doesn't look like the rest of the site.

Not sure what the gap you’re talking about is but it looks and functions great on my iPhone! Good stuff
Would you mind sending an email to the mod email with a screenshot of how it looks with any dropdown open and what model iphone you have?
Done.

Hello! With the new menu, when I click on a game, it has no 'Board' option. I know this is a small convenience, that really doesn't need to be there. But it was nice to easily click to update the page.
Another option to refresh is to click on the Global chat tab.

Are page reloads safe nowadays? I've always been in the habit of clicking links to reload pages, since they used to repost last messages
Yes they are, Chris Hughes fixed that issue for us a few months back.
