Well I disagreed with the proposition that Trumptoad is the Anti Christ in another anti Trump thread Mr Kingdroid but that doesn't make me a sycophantic Trumptoad acolyte, and I suggest Orathaic has made numerous posts dishing Trumptoad with criticisms. Silly him for daring to make a comment about Trump's.momentary interest in pro democracy issues in Hong Kong.and not considering how mr Kingdroid might react.

Any reason to defend him? Really? I think you need to take a step back and properly read my posts rather than just make assumptions based on your own prejudice.

Take the thread WyattS dragged up from two years ago, for example. It was a thread by Jamie highlighting Trump's top ten lies for which my response was to express surprise that it wasn't worse.

"That's genuinely quite surprising. I was expecting something far worse in your top ten." - Octavious

Now I would argue that saying that I thought Trump was a far bigger liar than Jamie had evidence for isn't exactly an example of enthusiastic defence of Trump. If you believe that's what defense looks like remind me never to be your ally in a game of Diplomacy 😛

Or my best mate happens to be from Hong Kong, so someone taking positive action over there grabs my attention in a way that some US domestic issue does not.

As for jumping at the bit, I'm not exactly spamming the forum. I believe that this is the only pro-Trump thread I've made this year. It's always good to quickly check your facts before posting them or you may risk looking like a bit of a prat ;)
My dude, you don't have to make the thread to be eager to defend him. You actively post in any thread about him looking for any reason to defend him while still trying to pretend like you're not a supporter.

I'd like to shoot your advice back at you. Make sure you're actually reading what you're responding to otherwise you end up look like a bit of a prat :)

Hi, prat here. I think a lot of people on the forum are just kind of tossing you around. I like to believe that everyone's (within reason) viewpoint is valid on these forums.

I love how oct always does this bit about how he doesn't like Trump's personality, but is constantly chomping at the bit to find ways to compliment him.

Curious if you'd see oct being as eager to compliment a U.S. president like Obama for the same non-stories.

In response to Daffy Donald Trumptoad's latest tweets on tariffs approximately $Aus45 billion was wiped off the value of Australian publicly listed companies on our stock markets. Well done indeed.

I'm not that sure that Trumptoad's meddling in the affairs of Hong Kong will substantially benefit the citizens of Hong Kong,if anything it will make the Chinese Communist totalitarian dictatorship more determined to avoid any compromise with democracy protestors.

A bare minimum requirement for nations aspiring to be be leaders of the free world is firstly to show leadership and secondly do it on the side of freedom. There has been depressing lack of interest in doing either from most Western countries in recent years. When someone actually does I'm going to celebrate it.
So you happy to see US imperialism 'spreading' democracy, eh, i mean propoganda. Forcing others to be exploited? I'm not sure that is any better than China's Imperialism tbh.

Sorry you are so blinded by your patriotism
As someone wary of imperialism, supporting the protests in Hong Kong is not imperialism.

US acting like a colonial power, taking over from the UK again?

AFAIK, they have been training the protesters for months, so not much new here
I don’t believe so, and more importantly the protesters are on the side of the majority in Hong Kong if the election results are anything to go by.

I have indeed missed the times Trump has gone after Western democracies.
Pick any of the times Trump went after Great Britain and especially London's mayor in dealing with terrorists considering how Trump cozied up to the Taliban with telling them he was withdrawing troops and inviting them to Camp David where each time they then increased attacks on US troops.

Cutting support for all our NATO allies while appeasing Putin.

Too tired to look up the others.

You missed all the times leader Trump supported dictatorships and other countries leaders that are crushing freedom like Saudi Arabia, Russia, North Korea, China (not the democratic Taiwan), … while going after Western democracies.

I dare say they would. Crucially, though, he has not.

They would cheer Putin if he supported them.

I notice thousands of pro-democracy campaigners in Hong Kong cheering his name.

Re: Well done Trump

You note that Trump waited months until after he got a tentative trade deal with China where he backed down on almost everything he demanded at the start and cost US people billions of dollars. Meanwhile hundreds of US businesses, mostly small family farmers, have lost their businesses and the US taxpayers is mostly subsidizing rich company farms.

Proof once again that US presidents with MBA degrees are bad for the US economy.

Well done Trump

by Octavious » Sun Dec 01, 2019 12:21 pm

Well done, President Trump.

Genuine display of guts standing up for democracy and the people of Hong Kong, and to hell with upsetting the delicate egos of the Chinese Communist regime.

The US can hold her head high once again.
