In hindsight, I overestimated the final scores necessary to do well. The tournament was DSS, 15min/phase and unlimited end.

I should've played on, hoping for a German elimination. The main reason I accepted the 4-way draw was because the second round games were about to start.. But I could've tried to play two simultaneously. Especially because the second one turned out to be voice chat only, while Cherokees was text only (this was something the participants could decided for themselves for every game).

The tournament was a lot of fun though! Excellent middle ground between FTF and online play. I recommend everyone to join Boston Massacre https://sites.google.com/site/bostonmassacrediplomacy/.

I was in Cherokees! Watch me struggle..

If I remember correctly (will rewatch later), Chris was not impressed by my move Nap-Apu in S02. My reasoning at the time was that I didn't trust Austria and wanted to get an extra unit on Venice as defence. We agreed I'd move to Aegean though, so this was my only option. I probably shouldn't have added the convoy as it was silly.

Memorial Day Weekend 2020, DixieCon went virtual. 80 players from all over the world played two rounds of Diplomacy, and Brandon Fogel, Siobhan Nolen, and I live streamed. Those streams were ~11 hours long, and we bounced between games; here is the commentary for one of those games, Catawbas, edited together. Andrew Goff and Randy Lawrence-Hurt engage in some shenanigans, and Maxim Popov shows us what a rising star looks like.

An Edited version of the Live Stream is here - for the "Blackbeard" board: Doug Moore, Edi Birsan, and a board of excellent players duking it out. This is the live-streamed commentary from Brandon Fogel, Siobhan Nolen, and myself, edited into one video.

Glad you're enjoying it!

There's nothing Vienna does for you holding, that you can't accomplish by moving somewhere. Want to defend Trieste? Move there. Want to have leverage on Rumania, move to Gal or Bud. Want to make a massive mistake and roll up on Germany? Move to Boh. All (well, not Bohemia) better than holding. Every game is different, but that's a general rule!

@dancing queen
You were briefly critical on the stream of an Austrian opening Tri-Alb, Bud-Ser, Vie hold. Do you mind elaborating later (after recovering from a long stream today!) on Austrian openings?

Thanks so much for the stream it is awesome to watch.
